Okay, so my friends and I were having a wrestling discussion the other day and the question came up (from the non-wrestling fan) "what is a drop toe hold?" Unfortunately, neither of us wrestling-watching people could come up with a good description. So, that's where YOU come in. How would you describe a drop toe hold? Also, if you can think of it, who is the best current wrestler at this move (I can't remember anyone doing the move for a few months; maybe I need to pay more attention)?
Thanks for your help. Oh, I'm the Wiener of the Day! Yippie! I feel so degraded. :)

Drop toe hold is basically where wrestler A drops down, and wraps his legs, ankles basically around wrestler B's ankle/shin, in order to bring him to the mat. The best at it is the master of the drop toe hold into the chair, and a man I miss being on my tv...I speak of course of Raven.

There, I feel better now.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If Raven ever shows back up on TV again, so help me God, I will have a mark-out moment of biblical proportions.

Let me give it a shot:

Wrestler drops to the mat (forming an "L" shape with his opponent) and puts his left foot in front of opponent's left foot. At the same time the wrestler kicks the back of the calf of the opponent with his right leg, causing the opponent to trip over his left foot and fall on his face.

And you know this...Man!

All above are right on the money.
All I want to add that usually the move is done with a running opponent.
Like when you throw someone into the ropes and when he comes back you drop and down him..
Your opponent falls flat on his face, while you get up and continue to do something to him.

Raven is known for the move because he often uses it to drive his opponent's face into an object like a chair.
(In fact, this is how he blinded Scotty Riggs for the Flock angle they did back in wcw)
Ofcourse Raven hasn't been the only one using it..

Hope we have answered your question..got any more? ;)

Thanks, all! You've been very helpful. Now it's time to explain it to others (and sound like I know what's what).
