As per a scroll on the screen during the basketball game on NBC from the Buffalo affiliate. And confirmed here:

Jack Kemp could come out of retirement and it would be an improvement over what they had last year. My condolences to Tampa for as long as Rob Johnson is on your team.

I have always admired Bledsoe. I hope he can help turn things around for the Bills. The way he kept quiet when he wasn't allowed to fight to get his job back... another reason i respect him. He's got talent and the nfl teams know this. Good luck to him and the Bills.

i wish him luck in buffalo, but bills fans are going to get tired of him making the offensive line look bad.

Marge: Mr. Scorpio, this house is almost too good for us. I keep expecting to get the bums rush.
Scorpio: We don't have bums in our town, Marge, and if we did, they wouldn't rush, they'd be allowed to go at their own pace.

I've been listening about how getting rid of Bledsoe would be a mistake by media people in Boston. The fact remains that he was a .500 QB with a strong arm and lead feet. There are dozens of QB's like that in the NFL now, and I don't know if paying $100 mil for a 30 year-old one was the best idea the Patriots had last year. Getting rid of him is the best thing for the defending World Champions (damn, that sounds good) and now they can focus on winning games and not a QB controversy.

And for Bledsoe coming back to haunt the Patriots, all I can say is this. The Bills have no O-Line and even with an awesome WR in Moulds and a good #2 in Price, it will not make up for the fact that Bledsoe will be getting sacked on a regular basis.

I still maintain that bledsoe is a great quarterback. I honestly dont watch too many games that the Rams or Bears are not involved in. But whenever he was on my tv i was hooked. He has quite a few records with the Patriots. Now that the Bills have a quality QB they can work on the offensive line. As for haunting the pats..... what if Brady got hurt? Do you guys have a quality #2 now?

The Pats list of back-ups right now are: Damon Huard (I always thought he was better than Jay Fiedler) , Rohan Davey (supposedly a good QB), and now Major Applewhite (the only reason he lost his starting job at Texas was because of Chris Simms' father). I am happy with the QB group right now, because I think all three would fit with the currenty Patriots Offense.

Also, I don't want it to seem I hate Drew Bledsoe (because I don't), I just think that people overrate him in his QB'ing ability. He's got a great arm, but he's no John Elway or Dan Marino.

I didn't assume you hated him.... i give the pats fans credit there.... everyone i've talked to seem to respect and like Bledsoe. He may not be Marino or Elway but he's got durability and he's definitely going to be the best thing the bills have had since kelly. I think he's got quite a few good years left.

I say it's a good signing for now, but no idea how long he'll last. The contract is for 5 years, right? It's hard to tell what will happen from here until then.
