Caught a free screening of Drag Me to Hell last week. I'm not even a fan of Raimi's Evil Dead stuff like everyone else I know is, but I had a really excellent time. Drag Me to Hell is a lot of fun. Thumbs enthusiastically up.

This is the quickie review I wrote (mild spoilers if you want a clean viewing experience):

DRAG ME TO HELL

A pleasant surprise. Sam Raimi enthusiastically returns to schlock-horror with an entertaining, gross-out romp involving a pretty bank loan officer being menaced by a goat devil conjured by an angry gypsy crone. A fetching Alison Lohman is totally game for her haunting, supported ably by Justin Long as her understanding boyfriend and Dileep Rao as her spiritual guru. Not just a very entertaining good time, Drag Me to Hell also shows us exactly why Borat is right to hate gypsies. There are so many good reasons, not the least of which is gypsies always put it in the mouth.

His career never really took off after being in that last "Die Hard" movie like I thought it would.

The best part of waking up is not Folgers in your cup, but knowing that Chuck Norris didn't kill you in your sleep.

My wife and I saw it, and she didn't like it, but I thought it was fun (and very gross). Not sure why anyone has an anvil hanging on a rope from the ceiling though.

Saw it tonight and thought it was better than average. Good little story, although there were points where I wanted to laugh at the screen.

Wasn't JT the one who came up with "we'll all look for the hidden idol together"? Then he goes off to poach it for himself, and is immediately BUSTED. As if the back half of this season could stink any worse..
