| #1 Posted on 30.6.11 0100.17 | Instant Rating: 7.62 | I haven't driven my 2003 Saturn in a long time, and over the last 3 months, my tire pressure DROPPED. I felt like something was wrong last week and I checked my pressure the next morning.
One tire was 11 PSI low. Should have been 30, was 19.
After getting all my tires back up to snuff. My MPG went up 5 from 22.4 to 27.5, driving the same route at the same time.
Tire pressure should be checked monthly and even though gas prices are coming down, this 4th of July weekend, check your tire pressure. Esp if you're going on a road trip. My tire check literally bought me 60 extra miles (and almost $10) on my tank.

Oh, I would have been sooooooooo fucked if that happened. My small economy spare needs 60 PSI, I had about 20 in it.

Originally posted by Cecil Adams I found no scientific tests showing that nitrogen-filled tires stayed inflated longer than average under normal conditions.
