Great end to a good season. I didn't like it much at first, I dunno if it was because the first episode was right after 4 hours of Super Bowl, or what, but I warmed up to it. Definitely harder than any regular season of Survivor, especially since most of these people have played the game before, and know what to expect.

I wasn't sure who would win like I did last season, when I had Sandra picked with 3 episodes to go, but that probably made it even more exciting. The car giveaway was kinda lame, and I'm not even sure that I like that we get to pick another million dollar winner. Kinda goes against the whole premise of the game.

The only bad news is...I gotta wait until next season now.

Of course from my couch at home I’d vote to give Rob the million. The question is if you were one of the people he made a deal with and lied to (Alicia, Lex, Tom), would you still vote to give him the money? I’m surprised he got as many votes as he did after backstabbing most of the jury.

I’m most confused about his relationship with Kathy. She acts like they have this great friendship…based on what? She’s like the mom who sticks by her son when he keeps getting put in jail because she knows deep down he has a good heart.

Shii-Ann warned the Tom and Alicia to get rid of one of the power couples, but they wouldn’t listen.

I don’t think Rupert deserves the people’s choice for the million. He’s one of those guys who can spend 7 hours on a boat fishing and have a great time. It doesn’t matter if he catches anything or not. That is how he treats Survivor, he is happy just to be here.

I liked the episode. The right people won the money. I'd vote for Rupert for the extra million, simply because he rules.

I watched almost every episode of every season of survivor and I cannot remember half of those people...and they were all top 4 finishers!

What a drag it is getting old. Stupid memory loss...

Amber says what I said all along....

(From USA Today)
Rob and Amber's payoff: $1.25 million and two cars
By Gary Levin, USA TODAY
The engagement of Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich — witnessed by 25 million Survivor: All-Stars fans Sunday night — comes with a handsome present from CBS: a cool $1.25 million, plus two new cars won on the adventure game show.

Amber Brkich won something else besides the $1M Survivor prize: an engagement ring from Boston Rob.
CBS

Brkich, 25, a part-time health-club worker from Beaver, Pa., won the top $1 million prize by aligning herself with Mariano, 28, a construction foreman from Canton, Mass., who took the second-place money. Mariano was loathed by other players after falsely promising loyalty to most of them.

"They all thought that their deal was the real deal," Mariano says. "They all thought they would bring me to the final (round), I would look bad and they would beat me gloriously. I had no intention of bringing any of them, ever."

Amber also was shocked at how easily her victory came: "They were idiots for not getting rid of me or him, every single week," she says. "It was so obvious. They thought we were caught up in each other more than the game. They were wrong."

One loser will get a second chance: A fan favorite, picked by voters on cbs.com, will get a second $1 million prize to be handed out in another live reunion special Thursday (8 p.m. ET/PT). By late Monday, 3.6 million votes had been cast, and early odds heavily favor Rupert Boneham, among Survivor's most popular contestants.

Preliminary ratings show that the three-hour Survivor finale averaged 24.4 million viewers, about the same as Pearl Islands last December. But the final hour — which included Rob's proposal, Amber's victory, the live reunion and the final twist of the second $1 million prize — averaged 25 million, the most-watched special since the second season in Australia.

Rob's proposal proved the emotional high point of the live broadcast from Madison Square Garden, even as fans had predicted a marriage for Survivor's first onscreen couple. They'd discussed marriage — "someday, like a dream," Amber says — since All-Stars completed filming last December. But "she had no idea I was going to (propose) on the live show," Mariano says. Neither did producer Mark Burnett until Rob sprung the news 10 minutes before it began.

Question of the day: Will Rob and Amber become the next Trista and Ryan, with a heavily hyped sweeps-month wedding?

"Everybody wants to know," says Amber, who barely has had time to chat with her betrothed amid parties and media interviews. "It's up to her," says Rob. Actually, CBS and Burnett also have a say. "I'm genuinely glad for them," Burnett says, but "I haven't even thought about it."

Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.

I'm upset that Big Tom came off like a Bitter, Angry Moron...instead of the Fun-Loving, Happy Moron that he seemed to be.

The marriage proposal reeked of grandstanding. I remember how everyone though Jeff the Chef was a total weenie for proposing to his finacee on the Australia series. Remember Colby BLASTING him for that?

You mean Keith? Yeah I remember that. The difference could be argued that he proposed during the game. Keith was pretty much hated by everyone and Colby thought he did it to make himself less hated.

When I was at PTI, "sources close to the show" said Woody was going to be there for a while. It's possible that he's a) on assignment or b) on vacation. This (pre-Football)
