According to the article, in 1994 "the U.S. agreed to provide North Korea with two light-water nuclear reactors in exchange for Pyongyang ending its nuclear weapons program." Don Rumsfeld sat on the board of directors of a company who wanted to provide the design and components for the reactors.
The point I'm getting is that because Rumsfeld hates the communist regime of North Korea, he should have either stood in the way of the attempt by his government to appease the North Koreans into ending their nuclear weapons program or he should have spontaneously combusted.
It depends what the course is. If the course is your typical high school history course. The teacher is trying to give the students a more current feel for history. The problem with teaching history is that there is no real connection for the students.
