News Knotts died Friday night of pulmonary and respiratory complications at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, said Paul Ward, a spokesman for the cable network TV Land, which airs "The Andy Griffith Show," and another Knotts hit, "Three's Company." Unspecified health problems had forced him to cancel an appearance in his native Morgantown in August 2005. "Tonight, we eat Chunky Soup!" Promote this thread!

Why must the good die so young? TVLand better do a nice 120 hour Don Knotts Marathon. Any complaints about the preceding post can be directed at the time traveling aliens who edited it.

Give the guy credit, it's not like he was taking it easy as he was growing older. The Roper's were great, but Mr. Furley's outfits and reactions to (basically the same) outrageous situations every week really saved the show. His nerd who thought he was macho character (and facial expressions) stole scenes. I was obsessed with The Incredible Mr. Limpet when I was a kid. I watched that movie so much (and it always seemed to be on TV!).

If you've never seen The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Check out the boring Xanga! (xanga.com) Stupid of the Year (thingsstuff.741.com)

Wow, according to this article at E! Online (eonline.com), his good friend and co-star Andy Griffith was at his side. That just sorta gets me ...
This looks like it could be the film that the original AVP should have been. Be warned, it's an extremely violent trailer, but you'd expect that, wouldn't you? http://www.avp-r.com/
