Sources also waited one week to mention the fact that the questioning led naturally to the prostitution. Also, Ireland apologized. Also, they never bothered mentioning this when Michael Silver was trying to get their side of the story before reporting it.

But I'm sure the sources are releasing this information with no bias, and certainly aren't withholding their name for fear of being directly called liars.

Normally I'd be right there with you on the skepticism wagon, but the story is directly quoting a transcript. If it was just your usual vague "sources say this story is false," that's one thing.

But they're throwing direct quotes out there. Instead of the former, it's instead "sources say this exact conversation happened: quotes, etc". There's a big difference there, and a lot on the line credibility-wise.

The guy on the local ESPN radio station was defending the asking of the question, pointing out that:

If you owned a company, and was about to hire a 21 year old and pay him $15 million dollars, wouldn't YOU want to know as much about him as possible before offering him a job/the money?

And, if they HAD drafted him, and he turned out to be a Laurence Phillips level bust, wouldn't everybody be wanting the GM to lose his job?

On another note, Bill Parcels has two super bowl rings, and one of "those assholes" he hired when he was a coach has a few as well. Plus, he put together a nucleus of talent in Dallas that, had they had better coaching, may have went to a Super Bowl as well.

I don't doubt that all the teams had used some form of private investigation to examine any players that they were interested and wary of. Only one team said, "hey, is your mom a hooker, or what?"

I wasn't defending the asking of the question in any way, shape or form.

When the information comes out of the context of the question being asked, it puts it in an entirely different light though, and isn't as offensive as it was first reported.

As I said before, the "information" is of questionable repute and doesn't make sense given the timeline of the story coming out. It smells like a "cover our asses" leak, rather than "hey, since you were wondering, this is why and how we said it".

You're pretty quick to accept that "information" don't you think? Do you also accept the "information" that when Dez Bryant was quoted that transcript today he said it was made up?

And, for the record, if you were watching his face and body language while they were reading the "transcript" to him, he pretty clearly let us know it was fabricated. Either that or he's the best actor in the NFL.

Hey, don't mock the throwbacks. Those things are awesome. Of course, if the Chargers would win in them they might wear them more(NFL rules aside) EDIT: And they're better than these abominable new Dolphins unis:
