I heard about this before and took this from a 411 forum (I know, I know....). It's an interview with the rapper The Game:

AB: I read something the other day that I'm not sure if I really believe. Is WWE superstar Triple H really suing you over your name?
Game: Yeah, Triple H is tryin to sue me for "The Game." I think that we should just take it to Pay Per View and have a wrestling match, man, so I can f*** him up because I'm not into that whole play wrestling thing. We can really take it to the streets, we can wrestle right in the middle of Compton. We can put up a makeshift ring made out of shoestrings and light posts. I'll get in there and body slam his ass all over the place for the name.

AB: Were you ever a wrestling fan? Does this hurt you at all?
Game: I was a fan of Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan, but these new wrestlers, the guy with the rappin thing with the spinnin belt and shit? I don't know about all these guys. There's too much fake shit. It was fake back in the day but at least they made it real. Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man and all them motherf***ers, Sting and Lex Luger, Ric Flair, but these new motherf***ers, these Triple H's and these I don't even know nobody else's name in the new shit.

First off, his take on John Cena is so hilarious, that I might go buy Doctor's Advocate now.

Secondly, I can't imagine Triple H having a case here, unless he trademarked it. I don't think anyone would confuse Hunter with a rapper, so I don't know why he would want him to stop.

Lastly, I'm not sure who would win in a fight, but I think I would pay to see that over Cena/K-Fed

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Triple H puts way too much stock in the popularity of wrestling if he thinks anyone's going to confuse the two or that a rapper would intentionally use his moniker to get over. I'm curious to see how this plays out, only because I can't imagine someone being able to lay claim to a non-specific moniker like "The Game."

TYPICAL HHHater RESPONSE:
But hey, he's already big-footed and buried almost everyone he can in the industry, so why not go after people outside the industry?

Do you think anyone would confuse wrestlers with conservationalists? I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE is still stinging from that incident, and therefore they are overreacting in an attempt to protect themselves. The case may or may not have a leg to stand on, but I can see why they might feel pursuing a lawsuit is a worthwhile gambit.

You believe me, don't you?
Please believe what I just said...

WWE is opposing The Game's trademark. It's highly unlikely that Triple H personally has filed a lawsuit.

I wouldn't mind seeing them 'fight' for the name... if only because there's the chance of the rapper having a gun.

Aren't the all 'Gangsta'?

Has Harvard vs. Yale weighed in on this matter yet, as they have been using that term longer than either of the two entities disputing its use.

True. BUT, that could be because they came to a prior agreement where Sting (the wrestler and owner of the name) allowed the singer the use of the name. I don't know if that ever went to court of Sting was just nice enough to let his name be used.

And as far as a HHH vs The Game match -- I'm all HHH.

I mean seriously, nothing says "I'm tough" like walking around with a 600-person posse that'll protect you if anyone dares to throw a fist your way.

I will say, if they did fight, we'd finally get that aforementioned answer to the old HHHater question, "I wonder who would win if HHH fought himself!" ZING!

It's just a message board, people. Chill out.

Triple H has a point. I mean, the Game bases his whole rap-style on Triple H's heel promos. Both consist largely of annoying name-dropping.

It hurts to be a wrestling fan.

ha. wow, not that it has much to do with the topic at hand but I just had to express how much you hit the nail on the head.

Listen to any Game song, he mentions every rapper whose name he can rhyme with at the moment...

EDIT: Actually, he often doesnt rhyme. what a hack.

AS FOR THE TOPIC AT HAND!

I thought this would happen a lot earlier, is it that the WWE just found out now about the Game or are they doing this to distract us from how crappy RAW is? (conspiracy!)

Did Angle make his Olympic announcement today? Because, while, yes he's thinking about it, from what I've heard, all the people he's asked about it (coach's, other ahtlete's etc.) have advised Angle AGAINST going. When it happens I'll believe it.
