Okay, this is bugging me ... with the return of the Intercontinental Championship to RAW, does anyone else feel that Smackdown needs another title to equal it?
Let's face it, Matt Hardy is a great wrestler, but does he really need to be the cruiserweight champ? I personally think it does nothing to help his push. Another title would help elevate him along with guys like Cena, O'Haire, Kanyon, etc. to more of a heavyweight status.
Leave the cruiserweight title to guys like Rey, Shannon Moore, Noble and Kidman ...
Speaking of Kidman, where in the hell is he? I know he injured his shoulder or something, but it's like he feel off the face of the earth ...

If I were in charge, I'd turn Rhyno heel and have him suddenly remember he's still ECW champion. I'd run the ECW Title as Smackdown's #2 belt - making it kind of like the Hardcore title, minus all the stupidity. (No DQs, no count-outs, but pinfalls only count in the ring, from people actually in the match and during a fuckin' match!).

But wouldn't a hardcore-style belt be better suited to Raw than SmackDown? On Raw, you could have the belt being fought over by Tommy Dreamer, Steven Richards.... um, Raven..... er..... Jeff Hardy? Actually, on second thought, guess it doesn't really matter which show it ends up on.
"The Rock also knows damn well, what in recent years the WCW Title has come to... Diamond Dallas Page? Booker T? The guy from Scream 2, the dog from Married with Children, the maid from the Jeffersons! Shane McMahon, this title is just like your sister, everybody gets a turn!"
I LOVE Matt Hardy as the Cruiserweight champ, but they're not giving him a big cruiserweight angle. There's no chase. I remembered three years ago when HHH was WWF champ (asking for a bash, I know I am, but I'm talking about the GOOD ol' days) and everybody and their brother were lining up to get in the ring with him to hopefully catch him on an off day and take his title (TAKA comes to mind). Nothing of that nature is happening with Hardy, and it should. As far as the IC title goes, I think they should just reinstate the US title, as another wiener said.
I think yes, Smackdown! definitely needs a secondary title.
I like Matt as Cruiserweight champion - I think it's done a lot for that title (and for Matt.), but it's time for him to move on, and the US Heavyweight title would be perfect.
(I think, however, the IC belt and US title would then be on the wrong shows! If they're trying to create a WCW-feel on RAW, shouldn't the US title be overe THERE?)
I think they should run an angle that somehow switches the place of the two midcard titles.

The "God/Heavy rock" riddle for the new millenium: Could HHH bury himself so badly that even HHH couldn't recover? Appreciate your love for the questions of life like that of a closed box or a locked door. Do not permit the temptation of any human's sacred doctrine to be your fleeting answer. Let the joy of wonder overcome your desire for knowledge, and when you do, the questions themselves will become your answers.
I think that Raw needed the second title more. The specialty title on Raw, the Women's belt, could only be fought over by about 4-6 people depending on who was hurt and who was around. The cruiserweight division has a few more people around. With that being said, I thin ka second title for the upper midcard is needed, though I dont think the US belt is a way to go with it. Maybe create a new belt, and start a new lineage since US is technically nerged with IC and thus property of Raw.

In the issues of December 16th, 2000 to November 10th, 2001, we may have given the impression that George W. Bush had been legally and duly elected president of the United States. We now understand that this may have been incorrect, and that the election result is still too close to call. The Economist apologizes for any inconvenience. --- The Economist, 11/17/01
Personally, I'd rather see a TV title, which has always been a mid-card title in whatever promotion had one, but it usually guarenteed good matches. (I mean, in ye olden days, not late Nitro era).

You know what they should have done. Have Morley win the IC title at the Battle Royal and then him say "Remembered you guys fired me, I'm going to SmackDown". And he along with the IC belt goes to Smackdown... Then Bischoff could get one over Austin and say "Seeing Austin failed miserably in trying to reinstate a title for Raw, I will get the job done and do a U.S title tournament" Then on the Raw only PPV Bad Blood you can actually fill the 3 hours with some real good workers wrestling 2 or maybe even 3 rounds on the PPV.
That would actually make this PPV interesting. Make Morley seem important instead of a guy who just rehashing an old gimmick. Also making Bischoff & Austin quick firings be thrown in their faces.

What, not have an actual cruiser hold the belt? I don't think we should fault Matt for the usual "on again off again" cw title push, if anything, he's just keeping it warm for Rey and Spanky although I hope find some way to get Moore and Crash involved in this...
The as heavyweight push is nice, but really, Eddie's just had a few fueds mostly revolving around the tag belts.

That's a really good idea. Seriously, send that to fan feedback.

Team EXTREME as heels? It won't work! The crowd just won't boo Lita. That's why they wanted to split them, you see... That won't prevent them from CHEATING TO WIN. I knew Eddie Guerrero had that angle with them for SOME reason.... :)
