I have been on a HUGE Electronic Light Orchestra Binge for the last month. I have one CD in my computer and two in my CD changer in my car. It's friggin disco, but I LOVE it! Anyway . . . . anyone else like them?

Never be ashamed to enjoy "disco."

ELO is SO much more, though. Well, that's my opinion, anywho.

Jeff Lynne was all about writing catchy hook-filled pop songs - I think he set out to try to emulate the Beatles or something. Well I'm sure they ALL start out trying to emulate the Beatles but Lynne at least came kinda close on more than a few scattered occasions. Damn good singles and all that. Well, I'm tired or I'd make more sense!

I loved their songs on the "Xanadu" soundtrack. We had that on 8-track tape and used to listen to it at the houseboat on Green River back when I was growing up. Yes, I am an old fart. I have found a few of those songs out on Morpheus so it's all good tho.

Yeah, I'm a major ELO fan. I even like the new album and will admit to owning "Discovery". If you're into them and haven't gotten some songs or albums by The Move (the band from whose forehead ELO sprung), you should. Same for the Idle Race, Lynne's pre-Move band...if you can't find any of their stuff, a few songs are on the Nuggets II boxed set, which is worth getting in and of itself.

I certainly didn't mean that you needed to be old to appreciate ELO, I was referring to my owning an 8-track tape of something they did when it came out!!! I thought for sure someone would rag on me for that.

Does listening to Ace Frehely's version of "Do Ya" on "Trouble Walkin'" count as being an ELO fan?

(ah well, it was worth a shot...)

Yes, it's been established that Hip Hop isn't the Wienerboard's first choice of music. But I saw the first Ja Rule thread and I see this whole thing's been garnering some interest. With that in mind: http://www.mtv.
