So I've been thinking about this for awhile... WrestleMania X-8 will have some kind of double main event, a match for the World Title and a match with the WWF's best against the nWo. That nWo match, it's probably going to be Hogan, Hall and Nash against Rock, Austin and someone else. And I've been wondering who that someone else will be. Ric Flair? Eh, maybe, but I don't think so. He would make the most sense. Undertaker? No, he's pretty much a heel here. And, well, this is what I was thinking, that since the nWo is SUCH a threat, that maybe they're going to put the big big guns in that six man tag, and do Austin/Rock/HHH against the nWo.

The nWo is supposed to be what the InVasion angle wasn't, and I really think that the WrestleMania Main Event is going to be the WWF v. nWo match-up. Teaming with Rock and Austin, just about anyone outside of Flair is going to look out of place, and I really don't think they could use Flair in this role without emphasizing how OLD the other team is. So I say, go with HHH. But the three BIGGEST GUNS you've got out there. Mania is going to draw a huge buyrate, so just make the WWF/nWo match about as big as you can, and save HHH's title win for Backlash. I mean, now that Daddy's Little Girl with back with Daddy, it would make sense to place HHH in the center of the WWF/nWo feud, with HHH on the WWF side and Vince on nWo side.

Give Jericho either Angle or RVD at Maina.

What do you think? Is HHH losing his title shot this Sunday so he can feud with the nWo?

-Joe

"What do you think? Is HHH losing his title shot this Sunday so he can feud with the nWo?"

Well, as I turn to page 83 of the WWF Constitution, under by-law 282.5(B) ... which reads,"The Pay-Per-View blowoff match winner will be the WWF Superstar who takes the most abuse during the term of the feud to be blown off, and/or the victim of the most recent beatdown at the time of said Pay-Per-View."

All signs point to H winning. Guest referee Screech will probably be bumped during the match; at which point Earl Hebner will arrive, Angle will be on the receiving end of an H pedigree, and Earl will count the three. Vince might come down to interject himself into the proceedings before it's all said and done, but I figure Austin will come in and cancel him out.

"That nWo match, it's probably going to be Hogan, Hall and Nash against Rock, Austin and someone else. And I've been wondering who that someone else will be."

Weeeeeeeeeeeelll, well it's the Big Show.

You laugh now, but the WWF will do it.

If it were my call, I'd turn Jericho and make him the third guy ... if nothing else than to see him verbally go off on the geriatrics. Having Rock, Austin, and Jericho on the mic against Hall, Hogan and Nash ... talk about a mismatch.

"WHAT? You were gonna say somethin'. WHAT?" "WHAT? Son of a what?" "WHAT? It smells like crap out here! You're fulla what? He's fulla what? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? You're a jackass!"

So if Austin and Jericho are facing the NWO at 'Mania, who does HHH challenge for the title?

No matter how bad things may get, just imagine what would happen if Vince Russo was booking again, and you will feel better.

Why, the man who will beat Austin for the title ... after Austin beats Jericho at No Way Out, of course.

The Undertaker.

They could do a Bash at the Beach 1996 revisit andnot announce who the third man is. He doesn't necessarily have to turn heel in the match though.

But this is not true. People like to say everything fits within some formula, like the one above, but it's not that simple.

Wow, that is an incredibly awesome idea. If he doesn't turn, that is. And if it's Angle.

I don't usually like to do this but here goes.

The way I see it there is only four possible guys for the main-event at WM:
Austin, Angle, Jericho, and HHH. It's gotta be a face and heel or two faces or no one will care.
The only guy that could possibly turn is HHH. Austin and Angle have already turned too much last year, and Jericho is just starting to excel as a heel.

So it CAN'T be : Austin(face) v. Jericho(heel), or HHH(face)v. Angle(heel) obviously. Also Jericho(heel)v. Angle(heel) wouldn't work.

This leaves: Austin(face)v.HHH(face or heel), Jericho(heel)v.HHH(face), or Angle(heel)v. Austin(face)

It seems if they want the nWo to be heels you need atleast two of your biggest faces against them. The Rock is one, meaning either HHH or Austin will have to be there too. So that means no Austin v HHH.
So the only decision left is if they want to go with a match which will likely be great, but done to death (Austin v. Angle) or take a gamble and go with something fresh (HHH v. Jericho).

Angle has no chance of winning. It will be HHH/Jericho for the belt with Steph in Y2J's corner. The NWO/WWF match will be important, but I don't think it will be or should be the main event. Minus one Wrestlemania, the WWF belt has always been the Main Event as it should be. I will say this for the WWF when it comes to the WWF belt, they know to use it and respect it. I think the NWO vs. Rock/Austin/Flair would be awesome. Hogan/Flair in the WWF where every is cheering for Flair instead of Hogan will be surreal. Team WWF will probably lose, but HHH will go over. I don't know how many heel Wrestlemanias we will have, but I don't think three in a row will be a good idea.

A Fan- Hopefully, the NWO will be hot and short.

I think the nWo will most certainly have a match or three at WrestleMania. But I'm not convinced it'll be a six-man tag.

It's very hard to say in any event, at least until we know what happens at No Way Out. Then the speculation will be a little more valid. So I remain watching and waiting.

Heading into the Royal Rumble I was absolutely dead set on seeing a HHH-Austin main event for Wrestlemania. When HHH won the Rumble, it furthered my speculation. When they announced a No. 1 contender mini-tourney and said Austin was in it, I said, "Well, that is how they can get Austin there."

I was convinced this was the direction they were going and I think the booking team thought that too. But adding the NWO to the roster has really forced a change now, so who the hell knows.

Somebody said it will end up Jericho-HHH, Austin-HHH or Austin-Angle. I agree. I didn't really think Jericho had a chance in hell of surviving to Wrestlemania, but shit, he's got a real good shot now. Austin-Angle would be a good money match only if they give it a gimmick because those two in a straight one-on-one has been overplayed in the last 7 or 8 months.

The only thing I know is this: this is shaping up to be a really weird Wrestlemania. Just the matchups being discussed and the possible plot lines, this doesn't seem like it will follow like any of the past 17 WMs. Who knows how this will turn out, but I can definitely say I am DAMN curious to find out.

Yeah, the intrigue certainly is enough to make me want to order WrestleMania for the very first time.

If Jericho's in the main event... I'M THERE!

I think you're all wrong...

@ No Way Out:
-The Outsiders get added to "Tag Team Turmoil" at the last minute and win the shot at Team Spazz.
-HHH gets screwed out of his title shot (either by Steph, Vince, or the NWO)
-Austin beats Jericho (probably with Hogan factoring in the finish somehow.)

@ Wrestlemania:
-The Outsiders beat Spazz (with Spike playing the human lawn dart a-la Rey Rey)
-Some combination of Rock/Jericho/HHH/Hogan
-Angle and Austin in the main event (no predictions)

Kinda reminds me of how people thought Triple HHH was going to be a transitional champ in the Fall of '99, and no one gave him a chance of surviving Wrestlemania, or even making it there for that matter. Well, certain circumstances (Austin getting injured and sitting out almost a year) lead to HHH becoming the star he is today. Now Jericho is in a position were circumstances (NWO coming in) where he *might* make it at least to Wrestlemania. Cross your fingers. It's soooo hard to predict right now, though. For the first time in year's it's really hard top tell what they are going to do for Wrestlemania this late in the process. Kinda cool, huh?

And wouldn't it be quite ironic if it was the NWO that lead to Jericho becoming an even bigger star than he is now?

I don't know. The way I see it, they have been treating Jericho much like they did the Big Show. Even though Jericho's been doing much, much, much better he is still not main-eventing every show like Austin, HHH, or the Rock would be. Hell I'm pretty sure Angle main evented most of the shows when he was champ.

Here's what should happen Sunday. As all looks bleak for HHH, Shane O'Mac comes out of nowhere with a baseball bat and is wearing a referee's shirt. Shane then cracks his own sister with the bat, and then Angle. Shane then makes the three-count, but as he goes to raise HHH's hand, Trips pulls it away. Trips then gives a perturbed look at Shane, as if thanks, but no thanks. The next night on RAW, Shane walks into HHH's locker room, says that he feels sorry for the hell that Stephanie put him through, mentions that the picture was actually of Shane's newborn son, and then tells Triple H "you owe me." I'm pretty sure this is what the WWF has in mind.

I think that when the Tag Team Cluster-Frick is down to the last two teams, the Outsiders will run out and beat those two teams down and take the WM Title shot. Foreign objects will play a major role in their victory. Then they will interfere in the TT Title match in favor of Spazz so that they can have an easy opposing team. This interference on behalf of Spazz could continue until WM.

I'm not sure what they will do with Grampa Hogan. I really can't imagine him getting a Unified World Title Shot. (i hope not!) I would like to see Flair beat him to a bloody pulp and get all the glory in Hogan's former back yard! Now that would be "Tooooo Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!" HA!

I wonder if they will have forced recruitments like they did before?

Steph will cause HHH to lose tomorrow night, but the next month of television will be spent having him fight to get the shot back. He'll still be in the main event at Wrestlemania.

I think the nWo would have to be in some kind of a tag match at WrestleMania, since three individual singles matches would show how crappy all three (with the SLIGHT exception of Hall) are in the ring. In a tag match at least they could cover for them.

I still think that Rock and Undertaker are going to be busy fighting each other at WM. Rock will win, getting his first big WM win in ending the Undertaker's perfect record at WrestleMania.

That leaves HHH vs. Jericho and Austin/Flair/Angle(?) against the NWO.
