Not including wrestling events, do you wear wrestling shirts out in public? Well do yah?

I know I don't, I don't even own one. I must say that I feel embarrassed when people think that I like pro wrestling, wrestling's just something I like to sweep under the rug. When people ask me what's my favorite sport or what do you do on the internet, I always say basketball and baseball, I don't feel embarrassed about that, despite the fact that I follow wrestling 10x times for than those sports.

Liking pro wrestling is something I don't brag about or even want to talk about outside of the internet or at an event. Why? I'm just embarrassed about it.

I don't wear wrestling shirts because the actual SHIRTS are so embarassing, not wrestling. There was a time in the mid-90's when I just hid in my room and watched Raw, but I think the product has evolved, I've gotten older, and I don't mind telling people I watch it. I figure if they just laugh and don't respect it, then I just can't be friends with them, it's that simple. Wrestling is such a huge part of my life that if somebody can't respect it, I can't associate with them.

Well, we're just a bunch of people who think Hogan is too slow, and who should shut up and be wrestlers. What does he care what he says around us?

I don't mind talking about wrestling on the internet, but to actual people, I always change the subject. As far as the porn thing is concerned, I don't mind making up porn movie names with actual people, I just don't make it wrestling themed when I do it. Also, they wouldn't understand what I'm talking about because they don't follow wrestling.

I'm 33, married, and I wear wrestling shirts in public without a qualm. I have no problem letting it be known I'm a wrestling fan, though I don't witter on about it when I'm in the company of people who have no interest in it.

Of course, I'm also a RPGer, a comic book geek, and a science fiction fan, so it's not like I'm unused to having hobbies the general public looks askance at.

love you land of the pilgrims' and so forth oh
say can you see by the dawn's early my
country tis of centuries come and go
and are no more what of it we should worry
in every language even deafanddumb
thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry
by jingo by gee by gosh by gum
why talk of beauty what could be more beaut-
iful than these heroic happy dead
who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter
they did not stop to think they died instead
then shall the voice of liberty be mute?"

I honestly don't see what to be embarassed about with liking wrestling. I know theres a certain stigma attatched to it but I usually compare it to a soap opera with really over the top acting and some damned fine fight scenes.

Some folk take the piss with the "But its so fake argument" but they tend to just shut up and accept my little hobby when you ask them if they think that (insert favourite soap/serial) is a documentary.

I wouldn't say I cant be friends with anyone who still didnt understand it though. I dont understand why people like many sports or tv shows but that wouldn't change my opinion of them in the slightest.

Well, I do have some people that like wrestling and I like talking to them about it. But unless they bring it up first, I'm not going to bring it up. I wish I wasn't embarrassed to like wrestling, but I just am.

I don't mind showing off that I like the NBA or MLB though. Those retro NBA jerseys that everyone wears now have got to greatest thing to come out in a long time in terms of fashion. Also, when people ask me what my favorite tv show is, truthfully, it's WWE Raw, but I'll always say Sportscenter. I feel ok with that answer.

I haven't bought a wrestling shirt since 1998, so most of them are too small. Then again, not too many of the shirts released in the last few years have been anything special.
I find that most of my friends sort of "respect" my obsession with wrestling. I think they see that it's okay for a twenty or thirty-something to follow it and not give a shit what other people think about it.

I wish they made Advent calendars for WrestleMania, although I'd skip the Mark Henry day.

If it is a decent looking shirt, and I buy it, I'll wear it everywhere, those things aren't cheap. As far as my friends go, they know I watch it, but they don't really give a shit about it one way or another, they'll watch a couple of minutes of it and then go on to whatever they were doing before, no biggy. Its not like they'll cast me out for watching wrestling.

I used to wear them more, but I don't have any decent (or current) enough ones to where out in public anymore. If I had a newer one I'd be all over it, though.

I wear the only wrestling shirt I have, which I hand-painted from my own design. The only funny looks directed at that one were at a Raw taping, in point of fact. Since it wasn't on sale at the concession stands, a lot of people couldn't wrap their heads around it.

As for shirts from vendors or WWE, they don't make them any smaller than a men's medium, and I'm a 5'4'', 118 lb woman. I don't wear nightgowns in public. ;-) I'd have to put a belt around it and call it a mini-dress.

Well, I haven't gotten any, though I thought about making my own. One time, I thought about getting a HHH baby tee (like the one Steph wore sometimes), because it was cute. But, it was hard to get, they flew off the shelves. I'm around wrestling people in my family, and my neightborhood. But we also have jobs (most of us), and other things going on. I only bring up wrestling, if the person I talk to brings it up first.

When I work sometimes, I wear my Benoit Victim of the Crossface t-shirt. Gotta LOVE Benoit. My boss gave me shit about it, though.

He was a Rock fan.

The big loss is Wolfe, who has been consistently great for years, no matter how little they had for him to do. Not sure what the story there might have been.
