I think CRZ thought this sentence was an unnecessary spoiler. Here's the link from a story Lords of Pain is running about the divas search being a total mess.

www.lordsofpain.net/news/2004_/articles/1089774790.php

Man, if this is true, that might as well scrap this thing. I say turn the Thursday special into a tell all and award it to random girl and send her to OVW.

What's worse than blatantly rigging a glorified beauty pageant?

Blatantly rigging a glorified beauty pageant and not telling all of the contestants that it's rigged.

Mark Bellhorn needs to be dragged into the straight and made to watch the bullet as it passes through his eye socket. Repeatedly.

So are they saying that the WWE will rig the voting process for the Divas? Because if they are not, then how can the WWE be at fault for this when it is the FANS that will be voting once the list is at 10?

I know that it means that the 10 who are selected might be getting some bias, but do they really care about not being one of the 10? I mean, I assume that they are being flown out free of charge to NY, put up in a hotel by the WWE, and just have to show up to the theater on Thursday. The only real damage for these women would seem to be the time away from whatever jobs they may have held.

Now if the WWE is going to rig the polls when it is narrowed down to 10, then I will get upset (well, not really because I don't care about this). Until then, I don't have much sympathy for these women.

I love that some struggling model/actresses are worried that WWE is going to siphon off some of their "celebrity."

This has turned out to be pretty underwhelming. I don't think there's anything wrong with trying a pseudo-reality show to get some mainstream press, but Tough Enough was much more entertaining than a model search.

And if those three interviews on Monday were supposed to make me impressed with anything besides double-sided tape, they failed.

I think that Camille, the 2004 Playmate of the Year, is a lock to win the damn thing. There's an easy promotion for Vince to have her do a 2nd spread with the WWE name attatched to it.

Of course, I'm sure any of these chicks would take there clothes off in a second.

I admit when they announced some divas would be on RAW, I expected mud wrestling or bra/panty matches or another swimsuit contest, all hosted by Lawler, of course, our national avatar for icky geezer lust.

I hope the UPN special features questions that will truly prepare the girls for their new job. For instance, are you ready to shake Linda's hand and smile as she mentally estimates how soon her husband will be pawing and slobbering on you?

So which one of thse gals is supposed to be Stacy's sister anyway?

Touche. I just think from their perspective, in the interest of drumming up some mainstream WWE interest, it hasn't worked. What's there been, like one AP story?

That AP story was picked up all over, though. Let's see how many (wrestling) sites (with credibility) bring up this lordsofpain.net thing.

True, the AP has a wider reach than a website with a Counterstrike clan name.

But aside from that, I haven't seen it getting any TV airtime, outside of Spike (not saying it hasn't, but Vince isn't exactly on the Today show, telling Katie Couric to shut her mouth, when she asks if the $250,000 RAW Diva Search objectifies women).

My god, someone needs to book Vince on the Today Show. The thought of Vince slapping papers out of Katie's hand, pointing his finger at her, and yelling "SHUT YOUR MMMMOUTH!" in his Vince voice is just comedy gold waiting to happen.

The thing that made Tough Enough rather interesting was the prospect of these normal people getting an opportunity at something they otherwise likely wouldn't. Though the WWE seems to be playing the contest as though its like that (what with the open auditions and all), it seems that this is just another gig for most (if not all) of these women. Torchslasher mentioned these ladies needing time away from their jobs... this is their job already. (Although why any of these women with legitimate acting/modeling career aspirations would want to work for the WWE is beyond me.)

Anytime an agent is involved, it always makes things sound so sleazy. (Not that this was pristine...)

I love how there are two camps forming. Those who think Camerella (the playmate) is a lock because of her prior experience, and those who think she's going to get booted because the WWE is looking for a (relatively) fresh face they can exploit with a Playboy spread.

Wasn't there a report some time ago that the WWE was only going to be hiring divas who would strip, after Stacey and Lita passed on Playboy shoots. I wouldn't be surprised if a clause about Playboy was already in the contract for the winner.

My only interest is the same as some other people's: finding out if Stacey's sister wins. I still haven't seen what she looks like and was surprised that WWE still hasn't said a whole lot about her entering the competition.

I think that was just a throwaway line by Stacey, I don't think WWE is actually going to follow up on that. But, it is the WWE. Knowing them, the winning contestant will be Stacey's sister, Eric Bishoff's Sister, Kane's baby, Eugene's girlfriend, and will defeat Chris Benoit for the WWE title. Does anybody know if Stacey has a real sister?

I don't doubt for a second that this contest is rigged.

The moment Playboy Playmates were in this thing should of thrown up a huge red flag that something was up.

All I know is I think I'm gonna have to see if I can get tickets to this thing. I love a good train wreck.

The number one rule of wrestling: If it is on TV, it is a work

For the most part, contests like this only hire models through modeling agencies. Why do you think reality shows only have a string of beautiful, beautiful women on them? If anyone is upset over not being on RAW the other night, I imagine it is not because they feel it will hurt their chances of "winning," but because they don't get paid for that particular TV performance, while other girls do.

Why? This isn't the same diva search they ran last time where the winner got a free trip to a PPV and had some pictures taken of her. They're giving away $250,000 and a talent contract. Playmates like money just like everybody else. Playmates are hot. Which girls are they supposed to pick?

In addition to Playboy chicks, there's a Price Is Right model, the cohost of TLC's Junkyard Mega Wars, the twin Juggys from The Man Show, a girl on the Outback Jack show, and Jessie from Survivor Africa. AND Jennifer Lopez.

I wish it was that Jennifer Lopez. After watching the show tonight, it was obvious the story on LOP was right about that chick Carmella who was the last Playmate of the year.

Tis a shame its rigged. That chick Christy who was in the micro purple bikini should win just for that split she did.

I wish I went. It was funny listening to the people in the back screaming at the coach.
