Has anyone's command line Folding software been upgraded, or am I the only one? On my screen, I have "finished a frame" and then a sequential number in parenthesis. I miss the older version that shows how much of the project is left to do. Is there a way to get the older one back?

I thought that was just a thing for the work unit I was doing.
It says at the very start "Frames Completed: 35, Remaining: 365" but, yeah, I liked the checkpoints that had "10000 of 220000" more.

There are several different work unit cores. You will see that there are different displays for each type. You'll get a mix of all of them over time.

I've added a Folding@Home stats link to the top navigation of the board. Check it out... this isn't as detailed as some of the other stats pages.

I'm thinking about replacing the pie chart with a 7 day / 30 day daily average chart.

Anyway, it's here: http://the-w.com/fahstats.php if you are too lazy to look up

Thanks for being part of the team.

I'm starting to get very annoyed with F@H...right now, Folding's two programs (FAH502-Console. and FahCore_7a.exe) are running, consuming 100% of my CPU, and I didn't execute the program. I don't have any windows open...and when I try to close them by using END PROCESS in my Task Manager...I'm unsuccessful.

This program, while obviously meaning well, almost seems like a trojan to me. No offence, but can someone tell me how to fix this before i give up on the entire idea? I don't like this program booting up during start-up, without my concent. Nothing shows up on my WIN.INI files, or anything.

With the console version, run it with the -config option. You can change advanced options like running on startup.

I use the graphical version, but I notice that I can change my options using the console version. Also, I have a copy of F@H in my startup folder, so I probably could delete that if I wanted it to not startup.

Sorry, I've been out of town.

It is definitely NOT a trojan. 100% no chance. There is just a configuration option set that we need to find and change for you.

It is likely that you told it to install as a service at some point. In your control panel, under the administrative tools, check your services to see if you can identify the service name. I'll try to install one as a service later to see if I can reproduce your issue, but it won't be for at least 10 hours until I can get to this.

Oliver,

I didn't have a chance to work on this much last night. I installed the F@H as a service on my new system, but I needed to reboot it to see how it worked as a service and I forgot to do this.

I'll take a look at it this weekend.

You haven't turned in a unit since 4/8 so I don't think this has been an ongoing issue, but I still want to see if I can help you with this.

Thanks,

Aaron

Oliver - Check your control panel under the Administrative Tools - there should be one for Services. The service that would be there if you installed it this way is FAH@C++Program and then a version number. I've got mine set to "Disabled" on the startup options and it does not come back up again.

Also, if you run MSCONFIG, under the startup tab you can uncheck the box next to F@H. That works too.

Wow! Sometime in the past 24 hours we passed 100K pts. We will be in the top 2,000 in five days or so.

Congrats! We passed 100k points in the last 24 hours.

On a side note, who is/was DrPepperMD? I thought I recognized the name, but I can't find any reference to this name on the board... I want to link the account up to a W name if possible for the stats.

That's really cool

Unfortunately, after looking at the stats site that I used to use, they don't do full stats at 2000, they do full stats at 500.

So! I get to write more stats stuff. The good news is that I'm already collecting the data to do the more difficult analysis stuff.

The Pie chart is on its way out and will probably be replaced by 30 day and 7 day daily averages.

Good news... we're projected to break into the top 2000 tomorrow.

Right now by 24 hour average we are the #270 producing team, by 30 day average we are the #310 team. We're currently #2028 overall.

Woohoo!

Well, I just hooked up an old 2.5 CPU computer to run F@H too with nothing else going on it, so that should help too.

ps. What? You're not going to welcome CRZ to the team?

We just missed it on the last update. We're currently in position #2,001.

The-W.com 2,001 115,733

Team Olana has 145 points more than we did at 3:00. Right now the F@H official stats have us with 115,933 so unless they had a WU close out in the last three hours, we should pass them at the 7:00 PM Update for 6:00 PM Pacific.

Oh, and welcome to the team CRZ Thanks for signing up.

We've bought from Tiger Direct at work, as well. I just bought a low priced PC ($299 less $50 rebate) for home use, also. Since I already have my software and monitor, NOT getting those things was fine.
