It's the sensation that is sweeping the nation. Ok not really.... But maybe.
I was one of the unfortunate PS3 buyer's of this game. Pre-order game and a bunch of three pack characters and characters that weren't on available on the three-pack. It really, really sucked that the game failed.
I bought this game early and brought it home on "Launch Day" just to find out, ugh I can't play beyond the intro.... They have since fixed he problem for PS3, but still horrible launch for the game regardless of the system it was on. Xbox 360 user's had a pretty seamless experience.
That being said (and now that it is fixed for PS3) this game is Fantasmic. I bought this with the intention of playing it with my kids instead of a hardcore gamer fan. So far this game has proven to be magic for me as a gamer, a dad and Disney lover...and I'll be playing some of it while the kids are sleeping.
Great puzzles, requires some grinding, and some more grinding to develop your toy box. The downfall of course is that this game is going to cost me a lot of money. my three kids will dictate that. Time for a new chore list.
All in all, I wasn't expecting much beyond a "Skylander's" type game. However so far they have taken the "Skylander's" approach to a new level by allowing me and the kids to have a playing experience with characters that we all actually know and love.
I'm interested in hearing what the rest of you have to say IF you purchased the game. Once I figure out how to share and download my Information for the Online Toy Box I'll gladly share the info!
Even through the failed launch of the PS3, so far so good.
We picked it up yesterday and have been playing non-stop since. Just creating and trying everything. Such a well done game.
Already starting to scout out what stores have stuff in stock so we can be prepared for xmas. Skylanders were hard to come by after launch, I expect these to be impossible to find the closer we get to the holidays.

.... And it's only going to get worse for ya there. The marketing behind this is brilliant. Buy buy buy. Buy characters, Buy power ups and buy new lands. All of which have a high price tag.
The game clearly has all the characters built into its design. They could be easily unlockable yet You.... Or really I should say, I am simply paying for access with each purchase. Same goes for the extra lands and power ups.
The thing for me is, I'm ok with it. I'm looking forward to buying new characters, completing quests and just goofing around. The Disney fan in me and the Gamer fan in me are very pleased. Finally a game that I can enjoy with the kids..... But really, I enjoy it without them too.
