Because Vince is an arrogant, mindless fool who continues to insist that we don't know any better and who could give a crap less about the well-being of the company's B show. Guess what, Vince? You've lost another SD viewer - namely, me. I was willing to tolerate the Kenzo/Mordecai stuff, but when you actively reward both stupidity and arrogance while giving the brush-off to talent and hard work, I do as Scott Keith was smart enough to do and vote with my remote.

This should send the Smark/Net Attack Advisory System up a few notches. Waiting on Net Hack Slasher's words...

If the WWF decided to use a Super Mario Brothers gimmick...

"Mah gawd, King! Garrison Cade just bounced a fireball toward Rene Dupree!"
"And look, Mark Jindrak just jumped on top of Conway's head! I think he's out cold, JR!"
"What're they up to now..where did that huge pipe come from?!"
"They're going down in the pipe! They're..they're gone!"
--Mike Sweetser

"Oh my god, JR. Cade just shrunk after he was hit by that chair!"
"Here comes RVD, King. What's that he has in that bag?"
"Are those Mushrooms, JR?"
"Cade's eating the Mushrooms. BAH GAWD, KING! Cade just grew twice his size!"
--Mr. Tuesday

At this point, the only thing I find remotely interesting about SD is DEAN's Workrate Report. Whoever thought that the prolonged absense of Paul Wight could damage programming in such a way. Thus, following the example of Texas Kelly (and to paraphrase a comment a great man made on 7/15/02): In terms of SD, RSN Go Night Night.

If you wanted a better description of the entire PPV, we can keep this thread title and remove the 'the.'

This might've been the worst PPV I've ever seen. Rey/Chavo was decent, but that was the only thing in the ballpark.

Bradshaw is the WWE champion. I cannot believe I actually just typed that sentence. Unless Eddie gets the belt back this Thursday, this might be the single stupidest move that Vince McMahon has ever made. Even still, JBL's name goes into the books as champion, which is something to think about the next time that the "let's see how this turns out before you criticize it" crowd tries to apologize for WWE's retarded booking.

Man, this is stupid.

Well, that was ugly. Bad workrate, bad acting, bad script. The majority of the card would have been filler at a regular Smackdown!, but instead those matches became PPV material. Suzuki and Mordecai put forth efforts that would dishonor bush-league wrestlers. Taker covers Bearer in concrete, and Bearer is probably happy about it. To top it all off, the weaker half of a second-rate tag team is now WWE Champion. Combine that with a chunk of Smackdown! going to the next Tough Enough, and I find it quite easy to pass on WWE's Thursday night offering.

Putting the belt on Bradshaw makes sense. Why waste the past 3 months or so of buildup only to have him job to Eddie? If they're going to invest this much time and effort into getting Bradshaw over as a main event contender, then they better damn well do something with him.

    .

    Man, this is stupid.

Ger rid of the The and here's the recap courtesy the meltz:
Spike Dudley vs. Jamie Noble is the Heat match. Spike won with the Dudley dog. The crowd seems live, so that's a good sign after two weeks ago. Good match for the time they were given. Noble was as solid as he almost always is.

The four-way U.S. title match with John Cena vs. RVD vs. Booker T vs. Rene Dupree is opening the show. RVD is the first one out, pinned by Cena after RVD had given frog splashes to Dupree and Booker. Booker pinned Dupree after Cena had given Dupree the FU. Booker gave Cena an ax kick but went and pinned Dupree instead, so it's Booker vs. Cena. Cena pinned Booker clean with the FU. Cena had something wrong with his forearm as it was wrapped up and bleeding.

Charlie Haas vs. Luther Reigns was just added. Sable was in a hot tub before the match. Haas was already suited up when Angle made the match as a surprise, right now.

The women are all in red, white & blue outfits.

Haas vs. Reigns is up next. Angle is coming to ringside with Reigns. Reigns won with his move, starting with a reverse DDT into a twisting neckbreaker. Boring until the finish.

Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero for the cruiserweight title is up. This is a match that better deliver or this show is going to be hurting. Really long, almost 20:00. Slower paced than you'd expect, with Mysterio selling the left knee. Mysterio reversed a Gori bomb into into an infared for the pin. Best thing so far, which is a telling statement on the show so far.

Torrie Wilson was in the hot tub with Kidman, Funaki and Spike. She got up out of it and they were all foaming at the mouth. Funaki said, "God bless America." It was pretty funny.

Kenzo Suzuki vs. Billy Gunn is next. So much for good judgment. Awful. Suzuki won with a low blow and then a set up for a reverse DDT, but ending as a backbreaker. They need to come up with names of all these new finishers so fans respond to them.

Paul Bearer is there being held hostage. Paul has lost a lot of weight since his surgery. Heyman tried to give a pretense of reality saying the authorities don't believe any of this stuff is happening which is why nobody will save Bearer.

Sable vs. Torrie Wilson is up next. Sable did a fake head injury. When Wilson acted like she was concerned, Sable "woke up" and used a schoolgirl holding tights. Even worse, Wilson's shoulder wasn't even close to down when she was counted. It's been years since WWE has had a PPV with two matches in a row this bad.

Dawn Marie in a bikini was being hit on Dupree, Nunzio and Stamboli. Nunzio showed Marie his big feet. She was slow, but eventually got it.

Mordecai vs. Bob Holly is next. Smackdown needs some guys who can wrestle bad. They had Mordecai sell a lot here and he was exposed. Mordecai won with the razor's edge after blocking an Alabama slam. The finisher is over, but crowd has been dead for a long time, and this crowd started out hot. It's the show.

Guerrero vs. JBL is next, which means Undertaker is working the main event. They are doing the touch all four corners rule as opposed to pinfall ending. They also have lights by each corner. JBL came out to almost no reaction.

JBL won the title. They had a good match. JBL bled badly from a chair shot. High spot was JBL giving Guerrero a power bomb through the Spanish table after a planned table spot resulted in the table not breaking. Both guys touched three corners. Guerrero dove over JBL to apparently win, and was announced as the winner. Kurt Angle came out, showed the replay which showed Bradshaw's shoulder hitting the turnbuckle before Guerrero's hand, so JBL was announced as champion. Fans gave Guerrero a standing ovation afrter the loss.

Undertaker vs. Dudleys is the only thing left. Taker pinned D-Von after a tombstone. Heyman went to pull the switch on Paul Bearer but lightning stopped Heyman. I'm figuring Taker pulls the level and kills Bearer. Yes, he did, I guess we find out on Thursday why, but Taker said he had no other choice.
This was the weirdest show I can remember.

Wow I am very disapointed. JBL as champ is bad. UT killing Paul Bearer was just stupid. I am just about ready to stop recording SD already much less watch the PPVs.

And at the same time having one of your top faces in Eddie Guerrero lose two straight PPV matches to f'n Bradshaw, thus hurting him at the same time.

So building a guy up for three months and having him still not be over equals getting the belt?

Except, of course, for the fact that the title match wasn't even the main event of the show (for the second WWE PPV in a row, come to think of it). Instead, it was the Sports Entertainment match where Taker beat both Tag Team Champions in a handicap match, then killed his former mentor and turned full heel.

JBL as a champion does not fit WWE line for a world champion, but neither does Benoit or Guerrero.

JBL has the unique feel of 80/90s wrestling he is a perfect fit to the Million Dollar Man and Honky Tonk Man persona's. Like "Million" we felt he could cheat a win for
the belt; like"Honky" we felt he did not deserve the belt. So let him show he is "Honky". Give him time, a few weeks; that will make or break him. Honky Tonk Man turned a big upset into a bigger title run than any of us could of imagined.

OFF THE SUBJECT:
THE PPV SUCKED!

Opening match no real heat, should of been a title change.

Cruiser weights belt should of been a title change.

Woman's match should of never happened.

Gunn/car guy, not a good match.

Holly/whomever not a good match.

Angle's boy/Angle's former boy, never should of happened. Kurt Angle is the worse GM in the history of this spot. He has no respect, and comes off like he has no ideas.

Undertaker/Dudley's. To much side story, not enough action. Taker's turn should of involved the urn, Kane, or Love(Brother) maybe even Million Dollar Man; to make sense.

If it were not for the beer, I would of left Hooters a mad man.

This sounds like one of the worst ppv's in recent memory. Really. Anyone want to refute that? Its a cruel world we live in today that f'n Bradshaw wins the WWE title before Chris Benoit.

(and yes, I know Benoit is the world heavyweight champion, but still...)

Back to Bret Hart. If Shawn Micheals, Mr. Perfect, Steve Austin, Buff Bagwell, Eddie Guerrero and a lot of other wrestlers can come back from a serious injury than SO CAN THE HITMAN. If Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan etc.
