| #1 Posted on 11.3.03 1701.27 | Any of you guys played Deus Ex on the PS2? I was just wondering what you thought of it because I saw it in a used game store and was thinking about picking it up. I know it was originally developed for the computer and some of my friends loved it on the computer, but I'm curious as to how it plays on the PS2. I haven't played it on the computer so I don't have that frame of reference.| Promote this thread! | | Ender

But from what I've heard, the only real differences is that the game itself is a little bit brighter, as there was a general feeling of the one for the PC being a little too dark.
The one for PC is a great game. Has some nice little role-playing elements to it, and I LOVE the fact that you can totally get away without having to kill hundreds of people. I got through my first time playing only killing 4 people. I felt special...

A few other differences:
- Whereas in the PC version you had lifebars for your head, torso and each appendage, the PS2 version simplified things by giving JC Denton just one lifebar.
- Your carrying capacity is not as limiting on the PS2 version of the game.
- The PS2 version obviously will have a lower resolution and reduced frame rates, but this is just an aesthetic change.

It's a sad, depressing story about a pathetic coyote who spends every waking moment of his life in the futile pursuit of a sadistic roadrunner, who mocks him and laughs at him as he is repeatedly crushed and maimed. I hope you enjoy it!"

I played it on the PC, and my Lord - there is no better game under the sun. It's so replayable, I'm playing another round of it right now. Damn. I don't know how the PS2 port is, but the game itself is gangbusters. The sequel is tentatively slated to be out this June, currently only on xbox and PC.
I cannot stress the excellent of Deus Ex enough, so I will leave it at that.

| #5 Posted on 12.3.03 2018.25 | I rented it a while back. I didn't play it too much because I also rented Onimusha, and that game's a lot easier to jump into. I didn't have any major problem with it except for the load times between areas (like in Red Faction). The PC version is available for $20 these days. Although I bought it, I'm not sure how it compares to the PS2 version, since my computer hates me and crashes every time.

| #6 Posted on 15.3.03 0632.23 | I picked up Deus Ex (for PC) for 10 bucks at Target. Definetly cheaper than the PS2 version and way better.
