So the SAGs were lats night, and everything went down as textbook as you'd imagine (LotR, Zellweger, Robbins, Theron)...except in the Best Actor category. Depp wins! Depp wins! Depp wins! Before last night, there was thought to be no chance in Hell that he'd have a shot at the Best Actor Oscar. Now though...still a pipe dream? Maybe-but its that little bit closer to reality. Thoughts?

I say, give Depp best actor. He was great in Pirates. Who else are you going to give it to? Sean Penn? Jude Law? BILL MURRAY? Feh to all of them I say. Cap'n Jack Sparrow earned and deserves that statue. Drinks all around to the losers.

Ever since the beginning, I've predicted that Depp would win. I remember watching some show where this guy was predicting that either Penn or Murray would win. I turned to my sister and told her that I'd be laughing at everyone when Depp wins.
I haven't watched any of the movies for the best actor award, except for Mystic River, so I don't really know who the best was. I liked Penn's performance, but I'm not sure if it's Oscar worthy. Ever since Pirates came out, I've only been hearing good things about Depp. It's been a good year for Depp and I can see him easily winning the Oscar.
Except that the show (to my knowledge, anyway) isn't ON BBC America. That's just where I found the recap. It was a short-lived British sitcom from the 80's, which was subsequently replayed on MTV to a nationwide roar of approval.
