ESPN.com - NFL - Cards' 1-6 start 'unacceptable,' but Green's job safe
Arizona vice president and general counsel Michael Bidwell told The East Valley Tribune and The Arizona Republic that while the team's 1-6 start was "unacceptable", the Cardinals aren't ready to remove Green as the head coach.
"I'm here to tell you there isn't going to be any coaching change or ultimatum or vote of confidence," Bidwill told the Tribune.
I believe it's the "no vote of confidence" part that'll keep people speculating. But I'm glad to hear they're keeping Green, because this disaster of a season hasn't been his fault. Get him an offensive line and tape Edge's lips shut and his team should fare a lot better next season.
TEN YEARS AGO IN WRESTLING HISTORY: OCTOBER 1996 WWF: Mankind d. Undertaker in the first ever Buried Alive match at...WWF Buried Alive. Also, Steve Austin continued his efforts to bring Bret Hart back to the ring by turning on Brian Pillman, shattering his ankle in what to this day is known as "Pillmanizing".
WCW: Hulk Hogan d. Randy Savage in a main event no one cared about, but Roddy Piper came out immediately after to end Halloween Havoc with a bang. The Outsiders won their first WCW Tag Team titles by beating Harlem Heat.| Promote this thread! | | StaggerLee

Bill Bidwell's the owner. The fact that he's not trying is pretty much implied.

How about Pete Kendall? Cut by Denny Green right after the first training camp, now starting for the Jets
How about LJ Shelton? Cut by Denny Green, starting in Miami
Denny has done a lousy job of selecting offensive lineman, both in the draft (Stepanoivich, Eton Brown (sp?)), and in free agency (Oliver Ross, Milford Brown).
The Bidwells won't fire him, as they would have to pay him the rest of the this year's salary and then next year's 2.5 million. So, they will keep throwing statements out hoping he will quit and forfeit his salary.
This team DOES have some talent, but it is currently being mismanaged. We are now on our 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years, our 3rd O-Line coach in 3 years. How about some continuity? When he keeps firing assistants he hired in the first place, it looks like mismanagement to me.
