|  #1 Posted on 16.2.12 1823.14 | It has just come out that Degrassi Alum Neil Hope, who played Derek (Wheels) Wheeler through all the Degrassi series passed away 5 years ago and the information is just being made public now.
I grew up watching the original Degrassi series and was always fond of Wheels. The character went through a lot over the course of the show. He dealt with the normal teenage problems as well as the death of his parents, living with his grandparents, getting touched by a man while hitch-hiking, and ends up driving drunk and killing a baby and crippling his friend Lucy.
Degrassi was a huge part of Canadian pop culture and The Zit's will live forever!
