Jim "The King" Leyritz was arrested Friday (sports.yahoo.com) for a DUI involving a fatality. I always considered it high comedy how he gave himself that nickname. If Jimmy Leyritz was an ice-cream flavor, he'd be pralines and dick.

Considering the two biggest moments of his career (the HR in '95 against Seattle, bottom of the 15th, to win it, and the shot against Wohlers in '96) were in pinstripes, in addition to 70% of the guy's career, I picked an icon - sue me.
New news about him having a suspended license (sportsillustrated.cnn.com), and the NY Daily News sez he wasted millions on booze (nydailynews.com). As bad as I feel for his kids, I feel worse for the victims kids and husband, so maybe he'll get the max without having millions to pay to a superlawyer...
I kinda liked how the umpires have tackled controversial calls lately (and, in particular, during the ALCS). If the play was really debatable or uncertain, all of the officials got together and helped each other out on what they saw.
