-This week’s edition of Raw did a 3.8 cable rating, with a 5.0 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show did hours of 3.5 and 4.1. The highest rated segment of the show was for the return of the Rock at 10 p.m., which did a 4.6.-

So this weeks Raw did a 3.8 with hours of (3.5, 4.1) up from last weeks 3.7 (3.5, 3.8)... What a shocker that the Rock scored the highest rating beating out the main event LoL. It does make you wonder if they would leak out The Rock would be on if the overall number might be higher with the anticipation. But seeing the Foley surprise and this weeks Rock surprise. Maybe WWE is actually thinking ahead and instead of worry about one week rating spike with a special appearance they are giving Raw more of "anyone can show up unsuspecting" aura around it and in the future people will tune in because you never know what will happen. I actually like this logic by The E. MNF is ending in a few weeks and Raw is averaging 3.7s (last year at this time they were getting 3.4s) I don't see why not that they can consistently break into the 4's once the new year comes around.

**MNF had a strong week this week having a rating of 10.4 from 9-11 (up from last weeks 9.9)... The half hour breakdowns were 9-9:30= 10.9.. 9:30-10PM= 10.9.. 10-10:30= 10.4.. 10:30-11PM= 9.3. Last week 4 half hour breakdowns were (9.6, 10.2, 10.7, 8.9)

I have to say that with RAW's steady improvement over the last few weeks, it's gotten me to want to watch again. I'm actually interested in the angles that are going on, and I'm sure a lot of people feel as I do.

I hope WWE has learned from these several weeks and realizes that longer-term planning, good story development, providing that must-see feel and of course, ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! pays off.

Problem is, who else would fit the billing of "must see special appearance"? Maybe Hogan. But after that, there's not many people that casual fans would make a point to tune in to see.

Also, keep in mind they positioned Rock in the around 10:00 slot, a time considered a key ratings position. I'm sure a lot of casuals tune in at that time, but the Rock's presence kept their interest making all the difference this week.

I have to imagine that the next big surprise would be Rock again next month, or Austin though that's hardly a "surprise" is it? The only other person I can think of is Nash back in his "non-wrestling role." While neither big (reaction wise) or all that surprising would be next in line.

Or maybe Undertaker, though there we're getting way ahead of ourselves.

Wisconsin Badgers: 7-5 (Looks like we're playing Auburn. That's a color, not a school.)

Minnesota Vikings: 8-5 (I'm extending my giving thanks for one more week to say "Thank you, Seattle, for being an awful road team.")

**December 11, Smackdown Ratings added**

Dec. 11 WWE Smackdown did a 3.6 with half hours of (3.4, 3.6, 3.6, 3.7)... Which is up from last weeks 3.4 (3.2, 3.6, 3.3, 3.5)

I guess that's a bit of a better sign compared to last weeks rollercoster half hour breakdown.

Looking at other Thursday shows. Threat Matrix is not doing well at all, SD came was just 0.3 behind that ABC show... SD also surpassed anything on WB for the full two hours and beat what was on fox from 8-9:30

Scott Hall would be a surprise.

And let's not forget Bret Hart.

Bobby Heenan would get some pops.

Yeah, I bought that set about a month and a half ago and saw him on I believe the first disc. I laughed when he got his ass beat. I loved how the announcers were ragging on both guys saying how brutal there were. Good stuff!
