Did George Bush just announced his bi-sexuality!? He thinks homosexuality is a choice, that has to mean heterosexuality is a choice too... So Bush can see himself wanting to lather himself in oil waiting for the strong touch of Heidenthrust but decided he'd rather "choose" to stick around with Laura Bush.
It's so lame how heterosexuals view homosexuality as something they can never see themselves doing but then are more then willing to put themselves in a homosexual mindset and claim it might be due to choice... I think Kerry brings up a great point about Cheney daughter, she knew she might have upset her conservative family & even with that pressure she had to be who she is. He seemed very understanding of Mary. Too bad her mother isn't the same and acts ashamed. Plus Mary is open, it's not like they are hanging around lesbian clubs to get dirt on Jenna Bush.
smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19
Yeah, let's all praise Kerry for his open mindedness in regard to a situation that has nothing to do with the issues or the election. Yes, gay marriage is an issue. No, the fact that Mary Chaney is gay is not an issue. Three cheers for John Kerry!

"Bob Scheiffer: Do you believe homosexuality is a choice? Bush: You know, Bob, I don't know. I just don't know."
I await your otherworldly explanation of how that exchange wound up being what you claim.

I don't know or care whether it's choice or not, but this makes no sense at all. Why would someone have to put themselves in a "homosexual mindset" to have an opinion, right or wrong?
Another thing, how can someone CHOOSE to have a "homosexual mindset" if you are born into it?

If you were paying attention to what CHENEY HIMSELF said, you would see that their family seems to have handled it fairly well considering some scenarios...like that idiot Jersey governor.
Fact is, you don't have any idea what Cheney's daughter went thru. Frankly, if Kerry really was understanding of Mary, he wouldn't have brought her into the discussion at all and left her alone.

I have an aunt who is a born-again Christian, and right now her and her congregation are furious at the president. They feel that he should have used the homosexuality question to speak for all Christians. He should have said "Homosexuality is a choice, and it is a sin" or something along those lines. She has proof in her own congregation, as there are those in her church that have been "cured". Some of them (the congregates), according to my saner uncle, have sworn off voting entirely, because the devil's work is afoot, or something.
I heard two phone callers state a similar view on the debate question on some conservative radio today. There are people upset that Bush didn't use his position to blast homosexuality.
Bush's balance here is amazing, and he better just shut up on the subject as the election gets closer. He wants to court these people, but if he does, he runs the risk of offending people with less strict religious beliefs (or those who can separate politics and religion). I think it's amazing, but also a little scary.
