I couldn't care if you received over the century mark this week. I don't care if you're the Bears' best receiver at the moment.

Act like it. You could be *so* good if you would just grow up. I don't know if Charles "Peanut" Tillman's personal foul is because of your influence, but for the past two years you talk big with very little to show for it.

People got all over T.O. for his antics, but at least he can back it up. Here's hoping that Lovie lays the smack down on the three stooges that contributed greatly to this week's loss.

Get it fixed, or I have a feeling next week will be the normal embarrassment to the Bears vs. Packers.

Since every team/game is getting their thread, and this one is the Bears post, I am letting it be known I have the keys, and I am in fact driving the "Bench Rex Grossman" bandwagon. Seats are filling fast (ooh boy did they ever pile in after that total crapping the bed that was the last play of the game), to say nothing of the atrocious clock management in that final drive. The defense played pretty solid for the Bears, continued lack of pass rush notwithstanding, but Grossman just looks lost more often than that. Add to that the fact that Florida QB's never turn out good in the NFL (system QB's vs. mostly overmatched opponents racking up big numbers is no indicator of future success), and I say it's time to give Grossman the Randy Orton treatment and end this push quick and early. Bring on QUINN!

I must admit, while I was concerned the Lions would blow another road game in the closing seconds, a big smile began to form on my face when I realized the Bears were pinning their hopes to Rex Grossman. That INT at the end of the game was fabulous. The Bears receiver basically tucked himself in the corner and was NEVER open, but Rex lofted it up anyway like a good little boy... and Bracy Walker turned it into his second big play of the day. Great way for the Lions to end the streak.

I don't know about bad clock management. They were down to the 9 with a minute to go. Even without timeouts, that's plenty of time for that distance. What I don't like is grounding the ball after taking the sack on first down. There's still time to send the receivers on an end zone route (that ought to be an automatic - if I get sacked, line back up and run a go route). But, the coaches told him to ground it (via the headset, per the Trib on-line).

As for the rest, yeah, I think the Chicago fans are pinning a little too much hope on a Florida QB, not that Quinn is much better. I'll see in person next Sunday!

And when you do, Sec19Row53, look for the limping cameraman on the sidelines...that'd be me.

That annoyed me, but more than that was that after a couple of plays they had no idea where they were going, they lacked organization, and were just burning time milling out trying to get organized. It's the QB's job to get everyone in position ASAP, and he looked lost.

Wow, benching Grossman after one game? I think that's a little much. It's not like we're one player away from the Super Bowl. This is a transition year, going with a new offense AND defense, and it takes time to learn it. Obviously we would like to make the playoffs now, but I think we have a good foundation with Rex, Thomas Jones, the o-line, and the defense.

As for David Terrell, yikes. I have always liked him, thought he was a big time receiver at Michigan and should have been one with the Bears for the past 4 years. He finally gets a chance to show what he has, and comes up with some big time catches yesterday. But for the love of God, get into the endzone before you start dancing! At least TO delivers when he acts like a jackass. Lovie and the coaching staff need to crack down on the penalties, big time. The Bears are not good enough to overcome 95 yards lost due to penalty.

I thought the biggest play yesterday was Gage tripping over the 20 yard line on his big punt return. The momentum was towards the Bears and if he scores (which he should have easily), the Bears are up 14-3 and never have to kick that fateful field goal or run the ball 3 straight time to get 6 yards and then kick the field goal. Huge, huge play. Hopefully they iron out some of the mistakes and give the Pack a good game next week.

Would you BELIEVE I actually had one of the guys at my freight company in Chicago offer me $20 if the Bears didn't go 11-5?!

ELEVEN WINS?!

Rex Grossman isn't just a QB that was in the right system in college. Sure in 2001 he has Heismanesque numbers thanks to Spurrier's offense, but then the next year Spurrier was gone, Grossman had to learn a completely new offense, lost all his receivers, had the worst offensive line i've ever seen there and he still single handedly won 8 games (including Georgia who would've been in the Fiesta Bowl instead of Ohio State if not for that loss and Tennessee and a ranked Auburn team). He also still threw for 3400 yards which lead the SEC. The guy is obviously more talented than the rest of the Florida QBs. Is he going to be make the Pro Bowl every year? No. But he's a good QB. I mean let's cut the guy a break, it's only his fourth start, and he's not exactly working with a lot of weapons. His only target is David Terrell and he's not even THAT good.

Believe me -- I'm completely on the kickDavidTerrellout bandwagon before the Grossman vehicle.

Our OL is good, but can be better. Our receiving corps needs work. I have no problem with a new coach/new QB sucking for a year or two and Angelo, say, actually getting pieces to the puzzle.

I'll be patient on this.

PS -- the Packers still suck. :D

Boy, you ain't foolin'. I was settled into a nice little pattern since FREAKING DECEMBER 2000. Sheesh. They ALWAYS found a way to lose. Watching Walker run back that blocked field goal for a touchdown tired ME out. Poor guy.

Regardless, Lions are right back in it now - and by "it" I don't mean the hunt for a playoff spot - I mean injury hell. What are the f'ing odds that Charles Rogers would get the SAME injury at almost the SAME time one season later? And then Dre Bly hurts himself while DANCING.

Ugh.

You know why I loved Ditka? Because he DEMANDED that the Bears Media Guide have an asterisk next to that travesty as "The Instant Replay Game."

The fun part about Packer nation is that they think we don't respect the Packers as a team. I do -- I think the Packers have a good team. It's some of the rubes in the stands of Lambeau that I can't stand.

Terry Boers from WSCR said it best this morning: "You know what the worst thing about dating a Packers fan is? Shaving her beard."

Nope - Chris Jacke, along with Sterling Sharpe and Don Majkowski. (and it's "Dickey")

Hey, Packers football is all these people have. So says, Wanda Sykes (of Inside the NFL) on ESPN's Page 3:

Page 3: What's so cool about Lambeau?

Sykes: First of all, that's all those people have to do in Green Bay! They ain't got nothing. There is nothing to do in Green Bay. Green Bay is so boring that once I had to spend two days there and we saw "Pluto Nash." That's how boring it is! So these people, they're like on fire about football. They love it. They breathe it, they drink it. Man ... and all the history and everything.

Dude, consider the source. It's Wanda Sykes. She couldn't even keep a show on Fox going. Most unfunny comedienne I can think of since...hell, Roseanne.

And yes, most non-Wisconsinites can't appreciate the connection between the franchise and the people...no matter how much Ron Wolf and big NFL money have loused things up over the years.

And bah to the Boers joke. Not exactly original...take your average "dude-looks-like-a-lady" material and throw "Packer fan" in there somewhere. (Yes, it's PackER fan...no regular fan throws that "S" in at the end unless talking about "da Packers.")

So, how about Jim Rome? I always hear him joking about Packer fans drinking shots of (yecch!) RANCH DRESSING. Please tell me Packer fans don't do that crap.

Oh come on, Thrill -- Sykes was *hysterical* during Celebrity Poker Showdown. She's the comedienne that's funny in doses.

So enlighten a FIB and let me know what there is in Green Bay, other than the Puckers.
