The format of the game...well it sucks to be honest. It's handled almost like Majora's Mask for the Gamecube in that you have 72 hours to "finish" the game. If you don't do the right things, you have to start all over from the 72 hour mark, although you do keep your abilities and skills. So this turns the game into trial and error. Furthermore, the challenges of finding and leading the survivors back to the safe house is damn near impossible.
Quite frankly, the game is too hard, and it's not really the fun kind of hard where you want to keep trying. Instead you have to save the game all the time, and if you don't and have to replay a portion of the game again, it's more of a chore than anything else.
I guess it's worth a rent, but unless you are a huge zombie mark or bloodfreak, I would actually skip a purchase.
Anyone else play this?

Stubbs the Zombie suffered from that same problem also. But Dead Rising kept the fun going for a while and is definitely worth a rental. It kept me thinking of George A. Romero's films, which is probably the general idea.

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week. "They're plump, ripe, and priced to move. Get your fat Samoan today!" (Packman V2)
Is it real-time? I mean, going off of the ads, it almost looked like a zomie-infested version of State of Emergency, which would be fucking badass.

I think the game actually has a disclaimer that it has nothing to do with his movies. That should tell you how much it was influenced by them

It is real-time, which is another reason why you have to be able to devote a lot of time to it.
The most satisfying weapon sound is when you take a bowling ball and take out 5 or so zombies like bowling pins. But like It's False alluded to, even that loses its luster after a while and you end up just running around hoping that you won't have to fight any zombies as you try to do these "cases" quickly.
