I don't really hold anything against the guy. I would be pissed if he sniped someone I knew, but I think I'd be alright being random guy # whatever if he did clip me. Why not, there are worse ways to go. If nothing else he shook things up and made things interesting for a little while. I'm surprised there hasn't been a copy cat yet.
Either way, the death penalty is fair. You reek this kind of havoc you should have to pay the piper when it's all said and done.
Edit: I should have used the RIP headstone for this thread.

If you mean "live in terror" by "made things interesting".
As someone who lived in the NoVA area during the time I just want to say that I remember how it was seven years ago while this was going on. Everywhere you went, you looked out and made sure there were no white box trucks around (up until the day before he was caught, the police had warned he was most likely driving one). While pumping gas people (including myself) hid behind their cars or behind the pumps. People were fighting for parking spots near stores because they were afraid. Everywhere you went, you looked around and were very jumpy. It was terrifying.
I don't think you'll find many people in this area against his execution. The man was pure evil.
Am I in Horseville? Because I'm hearing nothing but naysayers!
It's strange, because I was reading about this over on the other place and had no idea about the execution until I heard about it on the news last night.
Ohio Highway Sniper Manhunt Police were hunting for a 28-year-old man who they believe may be the elusive gunman linked to two dozen highway shootings that have terrorized area motorists for months.
COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 16, 2004
Originally posted by wikipedia The Ohio highway sniper attacks were a series of 24 sniper attacks along Interstate 270 and other nearby highways in the central part of the U.S. state of Ohio (mostly around Columbus) against traffic and homes. The shootings began in May 2003 and continued for several months. One person was killed (62-year-old Gail Knisley, killed on November 25, 2003), and the shootings caused widespread fear.
The suspect, Charles A. McCoy, Jr., was arrested in Las Vegas on March 17, 2004. McCoy, who had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1996, stood trial in 2005. The first trial with death penalty charges resulted in a hung jury on May 9, 2005, most likely due to McCoy's severe mental illness. Rather than face a retrial, McCoy accepted a plea arrangement where he avoided the death sentence. He was sentenced to 27 years in prison on August 9, 2005.
(I know, but Wiki was handy, and in this case, pretty accurate without me having to type a lot)

When the war starts one of the primary jobs will be to find Saddam, his sons and all his top guys. Now the Deltas, the SEALS and the SAS are waiting and planning to do just this. But do you think they can find Saddam?
