I shit you not.

It's less of a ringing endorsement of Davis as it is a don't-hand-the-governorship-to-Bustamante statement, lest anyone think that Issa had been abducted by the Zortians and subjected to their Gephardtization Ray...

...but Californians will still need machetes to cut through all of the irony hanging in the air.

More and more it's readily apparent that Issa's not really that bright a dude. The problem is no matter what he's TRYING to say, he just ends up making it look like the Republicans are desperate. The REALLY ironic part is, given the choice between keeping Davis or voting for a recall knowing Bustamante would win*, in the short-run it'd STILL be better for the state financially for the recall to go through, as if Davis wins he can get reimbursed for all his campaign expenses...and that money comes straight from the taxpayers. DISCLAIMER: The previous sentence may contain oversimplification

*I still think Arnold is in better shape than all these Republicans do, of course, but what the heck do I know - perhaps if the GOP weren't trying so hard to reinforce all the reported negative (relative to them, anyway) perceptions of this race......arrrgh, this was meant to be a footnote, not ANOTHER rant...

Translation; "If I can't be the new governor, why even bother to have a recall?"

Issa's an idiot. A rich idiot, but still an idiot.

Too bad Trudeau used the waffle to symbolize Clinton already.

To me it's no different than hearing the new Chief of Police saying "I don't have the skills to be a cop." a week after being announced to the position.
