| #1 Posted on 30.1.03 2041.33 | Instant Rating: 5.44 | I present as evidence the following:
1. Team Angle is simply excellent, and is a good way of elevating some good young talent.
2. The excellent handling (so far, granted) of Jones and O'Haire.
3. The return of Stone Cold.
4. Hogan, in a seemingly more sensible program (feuding with Vince, instead of a younger main-eventer).
5. The return of La Roca.
Granted that 3 and 5 are unknowns at this point, but I'll give the WWE the benefit of the doubt and assume it will be well-handled. Anyway, if they could clean up this boring, God-awful HHH/Steiner affair (bad wrestling, worse interviews), we might have something. I daresay I'm enjoying the wrasslin' a lot more these days.

| #2 Posted on 30.1.03 2050.49 | | I agree. Team Angle is awesome. I hated Sean O'Haire in WCW, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what he is all about now. The Nathan Jones vignettes are some of WWE's best ever. Austin's return is long-awaited and hopefully they don't screw it up, Hogan vs. Vince is a good way to bring the Hulkster back for one more run. But the most exciting thing, to me, is The Rock as a HEEL. He is so great as a heel and, if he goes over-the-top like I think he will, the fans will absolutely HATE him. | Venom

| #3 Posted on 31.1.03 0059.32 | I think I'll weigh two important factor that they are back on the right track.
After Wrestlemania there is:
1) Upward mobility for midcard talent. That mostly means main-eventers willing to elevate new guys and work with them.
2) Coherent, easy to follow, simple fueds and storylines. No Al Wilsons, no necrophillia.
If Backlash 2003 is main-evented by a Triple H vs. Kevin Nash hair match and Hogan vs. Goldberg after Goldie steals Hogan's feather boa, get the shovels.

| #5 Posted on 31.1.03 0844.03 | The ratings are simply doing a retracement back up from its 3.1 lows. This is normal and doesn't signify that the downtrend is over. Such a retracement can take months to complete.

| #7 Posted on 31.1.03 1122.06 | I'll reserve judgment until after Wrestlemania, myself. That way it's easier for me to count the F-Ups along the way, and weigh them. But so far, they're being more careful with the momentum to WM than last year I think. Oh, and I LOVE Team Angle!

| #8 Posted on 31.1.03 1417.38 | They killed some of the Nathan Jones excitement for me when they played a clip that called Jones 'The Worlds Strongest Man.' Now, for someone who saw Ted Arcidi, Bill Kazmeier and Mark Henry all with that title, it does not inspire a great deal of confidence.
That's an idea. Then again, so was the Edsel.

Americans are a resolute people who have risen to every test of our time. Adversity has revealed the character of our country, to the world and to ourselves. America is a strong nation, and honorable in the use of our strength. We exercise power without conquest, and we sacrifice for the liberty of strangers. Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity. - President George W. Bush, State of the Union Address, 1/28/2003 | Iron Mike Sharpe
