If it's true that he was released for being 'too violent' I'm surprised he just didn't get a warning or fine. You think they would go that route first before outright firing.

I say if they mention the firing on RAW it is most surely a work, as they usually don't mention 'future endevours' on the show.

Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but all this talk about "OMG, it's a work!" "No'issnot!" really takes the wind out of the sails if it actually is just a part of an angle.

Maybe I'm missing something, because speculation just goes with the territory, but what's the point (of watching/following week-to-week) if you debunk, analyze and suggest every possible scenario? I mean, there's a substantial part of pro wrestling that depends on surprises, so what do any of us as viewers get by speculating on every one? And then later getting miffed because things get too predictable?

I guess I don't see the fun. But I can be dense sometimes...

This is all serious business.

He writes: "For those who are thinking this is an angle, I am told by everyone I have spoken to that it is not, although I want to point out a number of wrestlers in the company do believe it is a work."

I would have added "and smarks" in parentheses after "wrestlers in the company" in that sentence.

Wow, I do not buy that at all.

An unspoken post-Benoit no choking rule? How many times have we seen people strangled on WWE tv since then? Just off the top of my head there were stranglings with objects during Jericho vs JBL, Orton vs Cena, I'm pretty sure the strap matches with Punk/Umaga and Shad/JTG had them...

I'm far more inclined to trust Meltzer's explanation of the choking infuriating some big shot and Danielson being a scapegoat.

Either way tho, this isn't something that could have been dealt with via a reprimand? Blech.

I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg on that front.

Isn't Bryan HBK's boy?

I wonder if the race gets close, will Cena be told to cool it on his continual mocking of the blind?

This is rather absurd. Was this rule not in place when JBL choked Jericho and dragged him around with the cable around his neck? Pretty sure there are other instances since '07 as well. Why were HHH and HBK allowed to use The Crippler Crossface? From what I read that's the move Benoit used to kill his kid no?

I'd like to believe it's all a work, I've noticed he hasn't updated his Twitter since the winds of change comment.....
And I'm sure there's enough people asking about it.

I know. You'd think he'd have said something on his Twitter account about this by now. More if leaning to a work for me.

To which I say....to hell with WWE - I want to see Danielson turn his back on the WWE and head somewhere else. I mean, nice that they throw him under the bus like this...who wouldn't like to see Danielson vs. Kurt Angle?

Danielson was the best part of that angle - he seems like such a good, nice guy and for him to act like a total dick and beat the tar out of someone...that was brilliantly done. I wasn't that shocked and a "turn" since Hogan turned heel.

There's a new "update" on 411 that says that along with choking Roberts, spitting in Cena's face was also not viewed kindly. Chris Lansdell has "reported" it, but there are no sources mentioned. It is mentioned that Vince had "no choice."

I'd link to it, but I remember I got a post banished once because it linked to 411.

Because 411 "news" is always cut and pasted from other sources and I'd prefer you just go to the "real" source instead of 411's (sometimes erroneously filtered/opinion added) version.

In this case, for example, the "Credit: Wrestling Observer (f4wonline.com)" tag is pretty visible to me at the end of the article, but I guess not so much for you.

Who the hell could have such authority over Vince that they could get a wrestler fired over something that Vince himself was apparently totally cool with? The old Vince McMahon would've never let someone tell him what to do with his company.

Sorry if I'm being dense : "Vince himself was apparently totally cool with". Clarification (for me), please?

Director wasn't punished, footage wasn't edited out right away, Danielson didn't get in trouble until yesterday.

Meltzer: "If someone from the outside that you've promised you are running a clean ship to complains and threatenes, what do you tell them?

1) We had a miscommunication and forgot to tell talent our company policy
2) We laid out an angle that included this
3) A guy who is expendable did it on his own and we're getting rid of him immediately

Options one or two would have severe ramifications for the company. Option three has no ramifications for the company. Danielson got screwed but they'll bring him back as long as he doesn't go to TNA."

So once you move past how annoying this is, which I kind of can't, what I wonder is

- will he be brought back with a big push to make it up to and because their instinct is to be passively aggressively defiant when they don't like being forced to do something,

- or does the defiant push only apply to people Vince really likes like JBL, and will he come back low profile to avoid making it a big deal, and Bryan will have missed out on the big push he was about to get as the #2 or even #1a guy in the NXT group.
