The Iranian people are very pro-American so any change in leadership over there will be nothing but good for us.

It is possible to be "anti-current-government-of-a-country-which-happens-not-to-like-America" without being "pro-American." That's like saying the American's who don't like the current government are very pro-Iranian.

As far as the communism thing goes, it's a slippery slope fropm socialism to communism (on an economic level), but there are plently of countries out there whos socialist economic policies could certainly be considered more "Communist" than "Capitalist" that have done just fine on a Macroeconomic level.

Yes it is possible. But any new government elected by the people of Iran is going to have a favorable view of the U.S so they are going to be Pro-American.

That not true at all. Relative to the current government sure. But the democratically elected reformer president's idea of being "pro-America" is to maybe talk to us and not call us the devil so much. That's hardly "pro-America."

Not that I blame them. Unlike most countries in the Middle-East, they actually do have legit beef with us for our unwavering support of such a horrible leader in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Where can I find out what percentage of a country agrees or disagrees with thier leader. All I ever see comming from the middle east is how much they LOVE thier leaders and even allow thier children to hang around them. Saddam is a children lover, you know, but not in the same sense as Michael Jackson, mind you.

Of course they love Saddam; he'll have them gassed if they express any other opinion.

"The poll, which had been ordered by Iran's parliament, queried 1,500 people across the country about their opinions on the United States. The results found 74 percent of respondents over the age of 15 in favour of opening political talks with Washington; 46 percent said they think U.S. policies on Iran are "to some extent correct.""

These sounds like people who are not going to hold a beef with for what happen 30 years ago.
