And now Hiro has a side quest.

I knew that he would 'die' but right after being in touch with Claire. I'm glad the cheerleader fake-out with the snobby bitch happened as some had predicted. I'm also glad that Mohinder doesn't seem to have any particular powers, and that his dreams last week were caused by some other 'hero'. Now that Mr. Bennet and friends have Sylar in custody, I have a feeling that with Claire out of harms way, we'll see Bennet turn back to being suspiciously evil like he was before. I'm actually rather surprised he thought just locking her in her room would keep her from going to homecoming. I expected he would stay in the room with her, as a bodyguard to protect her. I look forward to Hiro's adventures 6 months in the past next week. I also expect, with Peter having been arrested as a suspect in the Sylar case, that next week, he'll meet Matt. That should be fun with the two of them reading each other's minds. Does anyone else think that Micah's ability to fix the telephone last week will also extend to organisms? Particularly, his father after the shot from Jessica?

But the whole point of Jessica getting the sniper rifle and shooting from so far away was so that DL wouldn't see the bullet coming (and therefore, wouldn't be able to allow it to phase through him.) I suppose its possible he'll see it somehow anyway, but where's the fun in that?

If Eden can get anyone to do what she wants just by telling them what to do, couldn't she have stopped Sylar long before he killed Jackie or confronted Peter, assuming she was waiting for him the whole time?

Poor Jackie, so over the top mean that we would be okay with her being brain-murdered. I forget the date of the future newspaper, but if homecoming was today then it must be almost election time.

But the kid letting him know that Jessica was on their trail put him on edge, so he was probably "phasing" himself out just as a precautionary measure ... or that's my guess on how they get out of this cliffhanger, at least.

Sylar is Peter from the future. Peter somehow turns evil and finds out how to permanently obtain the powers of others (not necessarily in that order). He kills off Hiro and then comes back in time to get everyone else's before they are all aware of them and know how to use them. Hiro manages to make his way back in time too and warns past-Peter in order to have him stop future-Peter/Sylar.
Is there anything that's been on the show that solidly refutes any of this?

Doesn't Sylar reveal himself in the preview for next week? I barely caught a glimpse, but it looks like he's a Milton-from-Office-Space-esque geek.

StingArmy's response aside, Peter's powers are only maintained when he is in the presence of another hero. So I don't know how he would do the Lobotomizer(TM) on his own.
As far as Eden hypnotizing Sylar, they didn't know *exactly* where he'd be, apparantly.
My wife had an interesting point. If the pictures showed Peter dead and the cheerleader getting killed, why didn't Peter just stay away? Then his picture wouldn't be true and maybe the others would be false as well.

Well, he was told HE HAD to save the cheerleader to save the world. Staying at home means that he didn't do anything, if he doesn't do anything, then he didn't save her, and if he didn't save her, he didn't save the world. Besides, it's like Hiro's said about how a hero doesn't run away from a duty, even if it means risking your life. He knew what he had to do, and I like that he was able to plow forward no matter what he thought the consquences would be.
I like the idea that they saved the wrong cheerleader though. I don't know if they'll end up going that route, but it certainly leaves the door open for something else down the road that they can use.
So who's on the evil side now? Claire's dad, the hypno-girl and mind wiper, Sylar, Jessi or Niki or whatever, and Peter's brother (who's at least well on his way to being a villian)? Anyone else?

I'd bet that the guy who kept trying to stop Mohinder and his father from pursuing the concept of heroes in New York will end up as a villain, seeing how eager he was for them not to go. | JimBob Skeeter
