I love reading the Quickie, it is a big part of my daily morning routine. I haven't seen anything about why he is leaving, or where he is going. Anyone know? Maybe he is waiting to announce it later, but I will miss Shanoff's take on daily events, many times he alerted me to some issue I didn't even know about.

It may be a complete concidence, but it looks like ESPN.com put a link for Bill Simmons column only on the main page, and nothing for it on Page 2. Might have nothing to do with the end of the Daily Quickie, but it makes me think they're doing a relaunch of Page 2 or getting rid of it entirely and integrating that content elsewhere.
I assume that Cox can't just lie about their costs - they are a publically traded company. Wouldn't the SEC zap them if they were lying? ESPN is only speculating about Cox - they aren't denying that Cox is telling the truth about the $2.61.
