Myself, I'll reserve judgement until we know exactly how annoying, or how much of a breath of fresh air, Stephanie's going to be.

One can only hope!!! Perhaps she will now be only "on-air talent" just like Eric on RAW.

I am certainly willing to give them a chance. Look at all the other crap we've put up with over the last little while. At some point they are going to do something that helps. (statistically it has to happen sometime...)

Me too. You never know, it might turn out to be really good. One of the great things about the WWE (and WWF befor it) is that it still has the power to suprise you and pull something good out of what everybody thinks is going to be terrible. Of course, on the same token, it has the power to ruin what are percieved to be can't-miss ideas. Something tells me that this new GM shakeup is going to be good, and I've never really minded Stephanie. I have no problem with Bischoff as long as he plays a character on T.V. and doesn't get involved with the booking, writing, talent relations, pay checks, merchandising, public relations, announcing, refereeing, or even janitorial work. I think that this could turn out to be good for the WWE, but then again, when everyone else leaves, I'll be the single last lonely little person still watching the show.

Damn.. does McMahon even *CARE* anymore -- I mean there could be at least ten guys you could of done a commissioner angle with and of course he chose a McMahon. Ten bucks says Steph will always go over...

I mean who even NEEDS a commissioner angle anyways? Why don't you just take all the figureheads off the air and keep them behind the scenes and stick to, you know, wrestling??

It was ok back in '97 but now it's just old.

Bah, I wish Dish Network carried NWA TNA :(

Perhaps this will help Bischoff woo HHH away from SD?

Anyway, as much as I detested Big Steph's last TV stint, I'm going to have to be fair and keep an open mind on this one. If she can lay off the shrieking, and tone down the character to where it was pre-heel turn, it might work.

It might.

Once again, I'm going to wait and see where the angle is going before crapping all over it. But like I have nothing against Bischoff, I also have nothing against Steph, and thought she was an effective heel character (who admittedly was a part of some crappy storylines at the end of her last run).

I find it interesting that they may be trying to get her over as a face. It would seem that it would have been easier to get Shane over as a face, but maybe Shane just doesn't want to do TV anymore.

Anyway, I'm interested to see how all this plays out.

How many of us are really going to stop watching WWF/E? I mean really...its been pretty stupid for a while but there have been some bright spots: new talents has been pushed, Booker looks like he may break out, the cruiserweights are finally getting a shot etc. Yeah I know that the top card remains the top card, but there are finally some cracks showing in the vaunted 'glass ceiling'.

I dislike Stephie as much as most on this page, and Bischoff is a smarmy swine, but its not all bad. Is it?

As you can tell, I'm desperately hanging on to my positivity, much like the MIA CRZ used to (and I hope will again, someday). Until David Arquette is undisputed champion and Busta Rhymes holds the hardcore strap, I'll be there monday and thursday.

Personally, *I"m* very close to stopping for real. Then again, I've always considered myself only a casual fan, but the only parts I really enjoy watching right now are the women and the cruiserweights, and I don't know if that will be enough to make me put up with all the things changing around bullcrap and more McMahons on my television. I may just keep up on my favorites by reading re-caps, WWE.com, and watching the occasional match if I pass by at the right time.

But no longer am I going out of my way to be infront of the TV on Monday or Thursday night right at the start. I'll just float in from now on and see if I can catch what I want by one commercial break, maybe two.

DMC
(P.S. Remember--I'm also quitting if we see another bikini or lingere match featuring any of the wrestling divas--namely Trish--before August. I'm still holding to that!)

In light of the fact that his wife will once again be eating up huge blocks of TV time, it makes HHH's little "pep talk" even harder to stomach.

Wow. Personally I think it'd be a shame if all of you quit watching after 'all these years'. Me, I'm a sucker. I'll watch, good or bad. Why, because even the bad entertains me. I suppose I check my disbelief at the door when I turn on the TV. I let myself be entertained. I just don't think too much about it and enjoy what's on the television.

Maybe that's a blessing for me. Some may say it's a curse, many would say I'm naive. But hey, just letting yourself be entertained has some real positives too.

Perhaps a sabbatical from wrestling would be good for those of you who's blood is getting boiled by the last few months. It might do you some good to come back with a fresh perspective and remember that perhaps the company's change to WWE may have been incredibly wise. I've ALWAYS been *entertained* by *wrestling*.

That's the key for me and I'm going to keep allowing myself to be entertained.

If we're going by Price is Right rules, then I am the closest without going over, for having selected Independence Day, July 4.

I shall hereby claim victory. A pyrrhic one, however.

No dude, I picked August 29th. I was inspired by the CRZ recap of Steph´s last show where he said something like 'I´m taking 4 months in the pool.' In my initial posting I took that to mean June 25th, which was 4 months from date of the show where Steph lost the 'loser leaves the WWF' match. So CRZ´s your winner (although personally I also always play Price is Right rules). I bet he´s really thrilled about it too.

This decision has cemented my resolve to order NWA tonight. I urge you all to do the same. Vince has no idea what his fanbase wants, absolutely no clue. IMO Stephanie just sucks, worse then Mark Madden, worse than that McClane guy from WOW (Who was enjoyable in an MST3K kinda way) and I refuse to lower my IQ by pretending she is entertaining and not incredibly bad.

My only hope is that ratings PLUMMET so that Vinnie Mac takes her off tv.

And eviljon, sabu, that's an interesting idea. Bring Alfonso with him and there's a crazy general manager. Bill Alfonzo with Sabu as his protector against Eric Bishoff and his 3 ways with his wife and a stripper.. I'd take it.

Wow there are alot of people on this board who are always complaining! So when you stop watching will you also stop posting? I for one hope WWE survives the "valley" and will support them until they no longer exist. Have fun with NWA/TNA guys! I for one am not going to miss you.

I'll stop posting about current stuff, yeah. I'm not watching it, so I'm not qualified to comment on it. Besides, my NOT watching is the strongest comment I can make about the direction of the product.

As for NWA:TNA nahh. . .they cancelled Thudner once, and this doesn't even have Stevie Ray. I'll probably just take the CMLL stuff offa the spanish channels.

As for "not missing us," if my discontent with the product is hurting you personally. . .you're WAY to sensitive. I don't slam you for sticking around, after all.

I totally respect the people who said they will wait and see and on the most part I'm like that as well, but on some occasions (ie NwO brought in) that I try to look for a positive and I just can't find it.

Let's see in a span of 12 months we had Stephanie being the "figure head" of the ECW part of the invasion, even when the crowd went crazy when Heyman leader for all of 55 minutes (and it wasn't a bunch of smarks on the net it was a arena in Seattle that went OMG when it happened) then that same arena sounded like someone let the air out of a tire when Stephanie walked out and introduced as the real figure head of ECW. She failed at that, she FAILED so bad that it looked like they bagged Heyman to come out on the last show before Survivor Series (the closing of the angle) to save the damn PPV with the speech of his life.

Let's move up about half a year, she was one of two "main players" (sorry Jericho) in the WWF WrestleMania World Title main event. Guess what that FAILED as well and no one cared about the damn world title match in the main event of the Grand Daddy of them all.

Now again she's again another "figure head/ Main player" on a show. I don't think it's to much jumping to conclusions to think that it will probably FAIL. Just like she failed in anything she touched in the last year and a half

I'm sorry for all the people who say give it a chance I say, How many times do you have to put your hand on top of an open stovetop flame untill you figure out it's not a good idea and that it will burn you.

Stephanie has done anything great since the Kurt Angle love triangle? Actually I liked her stuff with Trish up to No Way Out 2001, when Trish/Vince were sneaking behind Steph's back and having Regal pretend to be Trish's boyfriend and having a pretty great Match at NoWayOut '01. (After that when Vince sided with Steph and both degraded Trish it fell apart.) That was Feb. 2001. About a year and a half since I enjoyed Steph, and she's been in important TV spots A LOT in the last year and a half with me not enjoying it.

I'd like to see where this is going, but if this "GM" thing fails, Vince has to end the split and start cutting the dead weight. There is no other possible solution after this. Goldberg is not your savior. Austin won't be able to save it WHEN he returns if this fails. Scott Steiner isn't coming anywhere near a WWF ring until his "floppy" left foot can pass a physical. The split is officially dead if this fails.

I'm not overly thrilled by this, not one bit, but I will keep watching. I will keep watching for Booker T, for Chris Benoit, for Eddie Guerrero, for every guy I like (which includes Eric Bischoff). Stephanie McMahon's role in this company is NEVER going to be big enough to make me stop watching. She's not going to be in every segment in the show. Rock vs. Angle isn't going to suck because Steph's the GM, the Cruiserweight division isn't going to stop working because Steph's the GM, Angle's not going to stop being funny because Steph's the GM. And yes, I'm willing to give this a chance. I'm pretty sure she's going to annoy the hell out of me, but it DOES sound like she was the face in this situation and I actually liked Steph before she went over the top with her heel character (she didn't use to screech and squeal). If she doesn't do that crap anymore than I'm all for it. Plus, despite the total "reset" feel, the fact that all WWE contracts are now open for negotiation leads to a lot of intrigue. Who's gonna jump ship? And why? Basically, I'll sacrifice a couple of bad Stephanie promos a week for a better overall storyline and I think we're going to get it.

The guys I like in the WWE work too hard to entertain me for me to stop watching it.

Unless Big Show beats Booker Sunday, then I might be picking up my ball and running like hell.

I tape the shows b/c of my schedule. Let's just say I won't feel as guilty about using the FF button as I used to, or just *forgetting* to tape it all together.

I've never been so down on the product EVER, and I consider myself a pretty loyal fan.
