So...I know that the tournament starts in a month, but there is plenty to get excited about, and lots to vent about.
For example: Will Ferbey's rink continue to play the aggressive, flashy play that ended up costing them the Brier last year? It was, of course, with some badly placed shots in the last end of last years final that all but handed the victory to Nova Scotia.
A venting point is that the weekday games will be broadcast LIVE on CBC's digital cable channel, but broadcast after the 11pm news on CBC's basic cable channels. This is something I do NOT like, as I liked the coverage that TSN offered last year.

Getting excited about the Championship season.
The KIA Cup (Ontario championships) start today in my hometown of Whitby. There should be some good matchups with:
Wayne Middaugh Glenn Howard Brian Cochrane Peter Corner
Going to probably get some tickets and head down there this week at some point. Anyone in the area, it is at the Iroquois Sports Complex in South Whitby....

Nova Scotia's Mark Dacey lost to Shawn Adams 9-6 in the provincial title game earlier today. Adams is a former national junior champ and represented NS at the Brier in '00 and '02.

I can honestly admit that I was NOT impressed with Dacey's play during the Brier finals last year; in fact, the last end made me wonder how the heck either Ferbey or Dacey made it that far. I was hoping for a more strategic end to the game, but both teams went for flash, and it blew up in Alberta's face...but not by Nova Scotia's doing; they both tried to make some gutsy shots that weren't necessary.
