A judge has dismissed misdemeanor charges against quarterback Daunte Culpepper stemming from last fall's boat party sex scandal.

Hennepin County Judge Kevin Burke ruled there wasn't enough evidence to go forward with charges against Culpepper. He was one of four Minnesota Vikings accused of misdemeanor lewd conduct during the cruise last fall on Lake Minnetonka.

The judge denied a motion to dismiss charges against running back Moe Williams.

The other two players charged, cornerback Fred Smoot and tackle Bryant McKinnie, weren't part of today's ruling. Their next hearings are scheduled for Thursday.

During his first court appearance last month, Culpepper testified that he spent his entire time shooting dice during the boat party last October and rejected offers from lingerie-clad dancers.

Culpepper was traded last month to the Miami Dolphins. He and Williams were in court last month seeking to have the charges dismissed. Two other Vikings, cornerback Fred Smoot and tackle Bryant McKinnie, weren't part of that hearing.

The October cruise on suburban Lake Minnetonka was swiftly dubbed "Love Boat" after employees of a charter boat company came forward with accusations of lewd behavior, and the Vikings became a target of national ridicule.

Well, THAT was a complete and utter shocker.

I think it's pretty funny that he is off the hook for shooting dice (isn't this gambling, or is there another definition I'm not aware of) when he was charged with touching a dancers buttocks.

Butt touching bad, gambling good?

The hell?

Well it's possible to "roll dice" without money on the line, for one thing. I can roll dice betting potato chips if I want. Is that what the Vikings were doing? You can't exactly prove otherwise.

This morning's update: the Coast Guard has called off the search. As for Schuyler, he was indeed one of the four passengers on the missing boat, and told the Coast Guard that the boat was anchored when it was capsized.
