Heat was alright except for Bradshaw's opening promo. During the promo, and Shawn O'Hare's entrance, it was obvious that they really piped up the crowd noise. That's one reason I hate taped shows.

Yes, I had no idea that Shawn Stasiak and Sean O'Hare were more over than Booker and Brock. Why is their fame being wasted on Heat? Why, dammit!?

Can someone please explain Shawn Stasiak's angle to me? I mean, I have seen the guy wrestle a few times and while he isn't the best guy on the roster, he is certainly decent and looks as if he can hold his own. So why do they have this angle/gimmick with him being just a loser, and never winning a match?

I mean, I thought that the purpose of a jobber was to lose matches to get their opponent over. For the matches to have any meaning, the jobber has to win ONCE in a while. If they never win, then the opponent gains nothing by beating them. I'd like to think that Stasiak is there for more than just comic relief, so we can laugh about how he can't beat anyone. But I don't see any signs that they are planning to do anything with him other than what they are doing. Anyone share some insight?

Stasiak supposedly listens to the voices in his head which distract him from winning. That wonderful Heat announcing team made a point about that.

FWIW, Stasiak beat Stevie Richards the last couple of house shows. Of course, since it didn't happen on TV, the streak continues.

They might not have had to pipe in TOO much crowd noise... When I was at Raw in Cleveland a few weeks ago, some of the loudest pops happened during Heat. I think it is the whole "Alright, the show is starting!" vibe, and the crowd will cheer for whoever comes out first. As the night wears on, it becomes harder to maintain that energy level in the crowd.

I would think that it has to do with Stasiak's actions last time he was in in the WWF as Meat. I think it had something to do with tape recording locker room conversations, but I'm not 100% sure. Of course, that begs the question "Why would Vince hire him again if he doesn't like him?" Maybe he just likes to see the poor bastard get made a fool of every week.

The announcers to their credit are putting Stasiak over. What he needs is for someone like Al Snow to give him a good gimmick to work on.

Molly, I was going to say something like that, i.e. Vince is punishing Stasiak for what he did three years ago. Then I figured that wasn't true because Stasiak's lucky he still works for the fed. The last time he got a big push it was a major bomb. I think the only reason Vince keeps him is because he's got the huge steroid physiche and he already paid his dues with the whole runs into objects gimmick.

I understand what his angle IS, (he thinks he is from this weird planet and it interferes with his ability to win matches) I just don't get what the point of it is. I like the guy. I don't know enough about wrestling and backstage politics, so thank you MollyFan2K2 for that info, which might the the reason behind it. I guess I just see him as being a huge joke, even among jobbers. I realize that to run a Fed, you need jobbers. But if he loses every match, not only does he lack credibility, the people he loses to don't gain any credibility. How hard can it be to beat the guy who never wins?

I don't want to repeat myself too much, but it just seems utterly pointless to me. He certainly looks to have the physique of a wrestler. He is fairly decent in the ring, not top level but at least as good as some of the guys out there. Perhaps he has a terrible backstage attitude, but like somebody mentioned, why even hire him then, when the WWE could afford to let him go.

I keep hoping that this streak angle is leading to a big payoff, leading up to a an important win, or maybe he wins one and gains the confidence to start a winning streak. I just don't see it right now. All I see now is just a running joke. Sorry for the rant.

The last time he got a push, it was a major bomb because it wasn't much of a push. I don't think he even got a win then. Of course I could be wrong because I've almost forgottten about it at all. About all I recall is him running into things and getting his sexuality questioned by The Rock. At least his current gimmick is probably the best out of all his gimmicks, and that's saying a lot.

I thought that was a myth, a story that internet people told each other that wasn't true.

Well let me tell you about the 3 minutes I saw of Heat tonight.

I Was comfortable on my sofa with my A/C house on a uncomfortable hot evening ready to watch a couple of hours of WWE. Watched BottomLine from 6-7... Changed the station to watch Heat at 7 to my pleasant surprise THERE'S LILIAN "yeaaa she's doing backstage reporting instead of Terri" *cheers* but then I remembered Terri's doing PR work in Australia so she'll be back next week *oh well*. Still happy to see Lilian then the camera pans out and show's Bradshaw, so my attitude went from "cool Lil, to oh god this jackass is going to talk"

He went on and on with his one-dimensional, misogamist, unfunny, lame ass promo. Which I tuned him out in the first 30 seconds. HE went on and on of how he goofed off in college and how many girls he harassed/raped. And poor Lilian had to stand there like she found it amusing or interesting which I'm sure she felt like most that it was extremely stupid and repetitive.

Then he comes out for his match just seconds later, I'm sitting there thinking "do I really want to watch this asshole? No, no I don't" *click TV off* I'll turn it back on in 10 minutes. Started doing the TV guide crossword puzzle (boy those are easy) someone called so I was doing the crossword and talking on the cordless on the couch looked at my watch the hour passed by with me completely forgetting to turn it back on.

Amazing one man alone made me miss an entire show. I didn't miss the show on purpose but he actually made me turn it off... Bradshaw, Would you please go to hell and away from my sight forever, I hate everything about that piece of crap so much.

edit in : Opps it this was a little off topic sorry about that, I just wanted to say what I did see on Heat ... Well to stay on topic I think crowd noise sucks and makes it look bush league... lol

That was embarassing. PTC just apologized to WWE, and what do WWE do? Put a guy on who brags about taking conquests instead of studying classes, and that he served his girls with the leftover GHB he happened to have handy. No he didn't say that last part, but it was still as icky.

I am not so sure it's because of his actions when he was Meat. If Hogan comes back after trying to get McMahon put in prison for steroids why would VKM care about Stasiak being an asshole? To me it is more that he was Meat and will always be Meat. Then there was the whole PMS and Terri's? pregnancy angle. God awful. Almost as bad as Mark Henry sleeping with a man in drag and then impregnating a 80 year old woman with a hand shaped dildo. Some things are just impossible to fix.

Well, the match was a craptacular disgrace. It was topped off when Bradshaw did the clothesline from hell with a freaking cow bell on a rope wrapped around his arm. It looked terrible. Oh, and did you happen to see the new "Texas Hardcore" Title complete with cow horns in spectacular 3-D pasted on it before you turned off the T.V.?

The Shawn-Sean match was better than I thought it would be. I really like O'Hare's new look and I think he would be of better use on Raw than some people (like Bradshaw). His finisher is "ehh" for me though. Surprisingly, Stasiak got a whole lot of offense and looked pretty good. Kudos to him. Of course he lost though.

The Molly-Jackie match was good and went on longer than I expected. Both Jackie and Molly had some great offense and Molly had the most hilarious sell of the atomic drop I have seen. Also, D-Lo's best line of the night: to Coach about Crash (the guest ref) "Is he eyeballin' me Coach?" accompanied by Crash's continued quick little shady villain side glances. It had me actually cracking up at the commentary (instead of heckling them). Crash's faces=ratings!!

The Matt Hardy-Big Show (NWO representin' on Heat) match was a nice little squash with some occasional offense from Hardy.

The recaps of angles were boring as only recaps can be. Give me another match instead why dontcha!

As far as Stasiak is concerned, I guess my thoughts are that he's kept around by the WWE and employed still because of the history behind the Stasiak family name, with his father being such a great, respected champion and all.

Though how that translates to the lamest crap gimmicks and angles possibly EVER is beyond me.

I don't think Stasiak really has IT, if you know what I mean. He doesn't strike me as someone with a whole lot of upside potential, unlike Sean O'Haire tonight. Whether it's traced back to Meat or not, I don't know.

The push I was talking about w/Stasiak was when he switched over to WCW and they paired him up with Stacy. He was so horrible on the mic that it made me wish for the likes of Sid and Scott Steiner. To second what has been said before, his in-ring work isn't bad but its nothing special either. I'm also surprised that no one brought up the fact that he's a second generation wwf superstar(or is it third?).

edit/ GRL just mentioned the family thing, props to her.

Stan Stasiak was WWF Champion for all of nine days in 1973. Real great and respectable.

Yeah, I thought O'Haire had a great look before, and the changes (longer hair, wrist tattoos) just make it better. But then D'Lo mentioned that O'Haire's crazy, and I thought "oh great, another Stasiak, but he wins". Then I remembered he had Neurotica theme music, so I thought "hmm, they don't typically give throwaway characters entrance music by actual bands". Then I realized it was Neurotica, and a band no one cares about is just the same as library music. Keep in mind I actually LIKE O'Haire.

Actually, I could be wrong but I think Stan Stasiak's title reign happened so long ago he was actually the WWWF Champion.
