WWE.com reports that Triple H suffered a groin injury during his post-RAW match with Goldberg last night. The injury is being called a "severe strain." WWE is also looking into the possibility of the injury being a hernia. Triple H is now off the Australian tour and could be out of action for awhile. WWE is hoping that he will be ready to go for his Summerslam match against Goldberg.

Knowing Hunter, he'll wrestle through this latest injury, but the result will more than likely not be pretty. The Summerslam match could turn into a trainwreck (yes, even more than before) with Triple H not at 100 percent.

If I was Vince McMahon, I'd start putting all the hype on Angle/Lesnar II.

Since I've been good lately, I'd like to be the first to take the gratuitous: Will this injury affect the wedding, or will Chyna have to be hired to fulfill Trip's wedding night duties? cheap shot.
A month until SummerSlam, so if they are smart and shut him down for a month, then it should be reasonably healed before then. Of course, the strong possibility exists that his opponent at SummerSlam could injure himself (again) within a month, which really would throw a fly in the ointment.

Will the woman who left her nine infants at Shea Stadium, please pick them up. They already scored six in the first off Tom Glavine, and know more letters of the alphabet than John Franco.

So does that mean it'll be spear/jackhammer/pin come Summerslam?

The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"

If you closed your eyes and just listened, it would sound like Stephanie is fucking herself...

I hope all the people who said Triple H is a "gutsy kinda guy" for wrestling through all his leg injuries NOW understands why it was a bad ideal for him to be built up as the numero uno bad ass and put over all the fresh talent.

But what type of hernia? Incomplete? Epigrastic? Bladder? Strangulated? Lumbar hernia? Richter's hernia? Obstructed?
Inguinal? Direct?

Props for the Al Yankovic reference.

Triple H is becoming the Shane Douglas of the new millenium. He's falling apart in front of our very eyes, getting injured at an average of about once a month, yet he still gets to hang on to the World Title for much longer than he deserves.

I'm sure many will disagree, but I think that was actually a pretty damn good analogy. *pats myself on the back*

"Cripple H"? Ok you have going back to his DX days the knee injury, then he had the quad, then the other quad then the lyranx and now the groin. Ok so thats 4 injurys in oh lets say 4 years. They get beat up for a living its going to happen. To call him "Cripple H" is just so stupid. With the lyranx he even wrestled through it and im going to say he will as well with the groin. Look rip HHH all you want for other stuff but to rip him for putting his body on the line for our enjoyment if you like him or not, is wrong.

In late 2002, Triple H was noted for suffering a new injury once every three weeks, or so.

Since he returned in 2002, he strained the quad leading up to WrestleMania and had to tape it up, he was out for a few weeks with an elbow injury, he had the larynx injury, he missed lots of house shows with the hematoma, the hematoma returned recently and he missed shows, and now he has the groin injury.

And those are the injuries significant enough that we know about.

Regardless of the injury, all he has to do is walk to the ring at SummerSlam, take a spear, a Jackhammer, and go on the injured list.

I knew I had missed a few of them such as the hematoma and the elbow surgery. My point still stands that he is putting his own body through this for the fans and for us to rip him for it isnt right. Is he a bit injury prone? Yes. Is he more so then the other wrestlers? No.

How it wrong for us to rip him for it? It's stupid. He's how old? Mid-30s? He's been wrestling NOT EVEN ten years (he started in 1994). Look at, say, Chris Benoit. Been pro 16 years. Worst injury is fused vertebrae, which caused him to a miss a year. I'm probably forgetting one or two minor injuries.

Triple H, on the other hand, blew out his knee at (or before) SummerSlam '98 and had surgery, then came back as a big-time heel, had a good heel rush, then tore his quad, out for a year, strained his quad, and injured his elbow, larynx, got a hematoma, and then strained his groin.

If you ask me, he needs to TAKE TIME OFF to recover, then come back when he can be 100%. I don't want to waste my time & money watching a busted-up old hack if he's just going to get more and more injured every week.

This is the perfect opportunity to put off Goldberg here. He can be made to look like the big bad ass that injured Trips and give him a huge credibility boost. Let's hope Triple H does the right thing this time.

Also, it is a good opportunity for him to turn face, if that is his desire. This injury putting him out of action could actually be a good thing in the long run.

God Damn It!

I've got tickets to the show here in Australia and know the main event is off/changed.

HHH has been one of my favorite wrestlers since forever, still is, and now that i finally get the opportunity to see him in action he gets a damn injury!

The only thing that remotely tempers this is that he apparently was only stopped from competing by doctors orders, and not his own reluctance to test the injury's limits. That fact alone is admirable, in its way.

oh well, at least there's Jericho, Kane, Christian, Booker T, Steiner, 2/3 Evolution and HBK

Plus we're finally getting Smackdown back on TV.

If only it were that easy. Would it be a good idea? Considering Hunter's injuries, it looks like a good idea on paper. But think about it further.

The casual fan is going into this PPV expecting to see a clash of superstars. And why not? That's how WWE is hyping it. If it's just a spear/jackhammer, drive-thru type of deal, the casual fan will feel ripped off.

However, that doesn't mean the match can't be short. They just can't hype the Triple H/Goldberg as a "match of the century" type of deal. Yes, put attention on it, but only the minimum. That's why it's best to hype the Smackdown main event as the match to buy the show for.

The best thing to do for Raw is to keep Hunter/Goldberg short and put the spotlight on the Kane match.

Yeah a squash match would not be the best idea. If the injury is serious, HHH could go out there and start off with some good offense, but then Goldberg do a move where afterwards HHH starts selling his legitamate injury. That way it can be a short match but there will be a reason that even casual fans will be aware of.

Also as someone mentioned earlier, he can come back after the injury with the same buildup as his quad injury where he completed the match despite injury.

"Cripple H" is just a convenient way to get over what a smart, smart mark you are. It's not any worse than refusing to call someone by anything but their real name, an old gimmick, or whatever.

Triple H needs time off, no doubt about it, but it could be argued quite easily that losing him would leave a rather large hole in the main-event level heel department. If Goldberg beats HHH (which, oddly, may piss smarks off MORE than The Demon Helmsly keeping the belt) the closest heels to his level are Y2J and Kane. Kane'd be a fairly good choice in a couple of months, but not until after his issue with Austin is over. Y2J's already been clobbered by Goldberg, so they've blown that wad. Their options are pretty limited even WITH HHH around.
