I was at the Springfield, MA house show yesterday. Stevie Richards wrestled Rico as a face. He came out to Crash's old music, and climbed up and down the turnbuckle, the way Crash used to. Before he hit the DDT, he pointed up at the sky, looked like he said "this is for you." He seemed very emotional, and was on the verge of tears after the match. It seemed like a very classy tribute, that unfortunately was lost on a lot of the audience, who weren't aware of Crash's death.
I always got a kick out of the entire Crash Holly character. From the strut to the ring, to his stuttering in his interviews...
Wonder if, aside from maybe a video montage or a few lines from JR and Lawler, we'll hear more about this from the WWE. Will Molly wear an arm band, as they were onscreen cousins? Will Stevie Richards do something?
Speaking of which, I'm sure Richards is devastated about this.
I'm with ya, weevil. Today's production, athleticism, technical ability, body appearance, music, moveset and even most of the gimmicks are far better than the olden days, in my opinion, and yes, I watched back then.
