Michael Lockwood passes away
World Wrestling Entertainment is saddened by the loss of Michael Lockwood, known professionally as Crash Holly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Michael's friends and family.
--WWE.com
=======================
UPDATE from the Observer:
Mike Lockwood, better known as Crash Holly and more recently, Mad Mikey, was found dead this afternoon at Steven Richards' home in Florida. He was 34.
We have no other details on the death at this time.
=======================
who? what? where? anyone see anything else about this yet? I just read last week he was moving back here to NorCal to be a trainer at Pro Wrestling Iron's Tetsu Academy.
p.s. sorry I can't fix the topic name to get rid of the question marks seeing that it looks like it's true.
This one really caught me off guard. This looks like more "foul play".

| #3 Posted on 6.11.03 1942.46 | Instant Rating: 5.07 | None of the wrestling deaths over the past year have truly shocked me. When my childhood idol, Curt Hennig, passed away, I wasn't truly shocked. Even when Ms. Elizabeth passed away, I wasn't truly shocked.
But when I got on wrestlingobserver.com and read this headline, I was SHOCKED! I couldn't believe it. My heart just sank down into my chest. I never saw this coming.
RIP, Crash Holly.

That's quite a scary thought, too. In fact, one of the first things I thought when I read this was; "God, can't we have one WWE show that DOESN'T start off with an "In Memory of..." graphic?"
These truly are sad times.

But when you see people as young as Hawk or Holly or Henning or Elizabeth, dying every week. You really have to wonder what is going wrong with this business.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Crash was found dead this afternoon in Stevie Richard's home in Florida. Speculation is he may have choked on his own vomit. Crash was 34 years old. Again, once more information is learned we will post it.

| #12 Posted on 6.11.03 2040.36 | Earlier this year I saw Crash in a match with Jaqueline at a RAW houseshow. It was part of their short-term feud in the Spring, right before he was released from WWE.
Although most of the audience seemed to ignore the match, I noticed that Crash kept talking to Jaqueline as they wrestled. What he was saying, I have no idea, but eventually Jaqueline got a case of the giggles. From there it was a beautiful match to watch - Jaqueline trying desperately to stay in character and show pain, while Crash continued to make her laugh throughout the remainder of the match.
Right now, I think that's going to the thoughts about Crash that I'll concentrate on for the next few days.

| #14 Posted on 6.11.03 2103.04 | Instant Rating: 4.86 | Jeez, that's just wrong. Crash was always a regular "Most Underrated" vote of mine, ever since the super-heavyweight/"Houdini of Hardcore" days. More than being just a good wrestler, he had a real gift for physical comedy, and it's a shame he got overlooked in the WWE shuffle -- and tragic that he won't get a chance to get his career restarted.
"I do have a degree in electrical engineering... from almost 20 years ago. Punchcard systems were just becoming obsolete, we had rotary phones in the dorms, and a modem was still a gizmo the size of a shoebox into which you squooshed the phone receiver itself. In short, we lived like animals.
The instant obsolesence is why I became a writer. The rate of punctuation in a sentence doesn't double every 18 friggin' months, and you never have some 22-year-old looming over your shoulder, shaking his head, saying "dude... you're still using adverbs...?"

That was actually last year. They moved him over to Smackdown last fall and, after a short run in the Cruiserweight division, they did the standard "we don't know what to do with this guy" thing and moved him onto Velocity. Right before he released, he was running an angle where he was the Shannon Moore to Shannon Moore's Matt Hardy (making him, of course, a Moore-On).
If I'm not mistaken, his contract was up, TNA was interested and the WWE wasn't doing anything major with him and the two parties split fairly amicably.
