And what is with that theme music?
Perhaps some more time and seasoning may be in order, but I dont think he's gonna topple Conan's show. Not in a million years.
Anyone care to comment?

|  #2 Posted on 23.2.05 1633.40 | Instant Rating: 6.70 | I can't really fairly comment as I've only seen two or three episodes of his show. From what I saw, it wasn't anything special, but not really bad either. However, nothing that I'd give up watching Conan for.
Like you said, more time may be the answer. Remember that O'Brien was hated by critics at first and now is looking to take over the Tonight Show in a few years. I like Craig (really carried the Drew Carey show, IMO) and I'm sure he'll get better over time.
And I like the theme music... for some reason.

Much like Conan and even Jimmy Kimmel, you've got to give him a little time to get into a groove (like a year), and then truly judge how good he is or not. Of course, most tv execs don't have that much patience.
How is he doing in the ratings? Better or worse than Kilby?
Paul Westerberg is taping a performance tonight that will be shown sometime in the future (supposedly), so I'll keep an eye out for that ep.

| #4 Posted on 23.2.05 1915.32 | Instant Rating: 5.40 | Right now, he seems to be at the level of Default Talk Show Host (at least he's not as bad as Tony Danza) in that his material (to me, at least) comes off as easy jokes that are only mildly interesting because of his accent. But throw me in the "give him time" category. Let him get comfortable and he'll be fine. Writing can be improved. Now, if he's still bleh with great material, that's all his problem.
As for the music, the line about blowing off work = comedy... well, not exactly gold... maybe copper?

Not sure about ratings, but he definitely isn't any WORSE than Craig Kilborn. And that's something to be thankful for, at least.
