It seems that Fox is having a guy write a script for a live-action Bebop movie and Keanu Reeves has been linked with it to play Spike Spiegel: Linkify! (hollywoodreporter.com)
Bebop has a pretty good story so if they stay true to that and utilize music in the movie like the songs from the anime they will be off to a good start. Here's (video.google.com) the opening theme, quite possible one of the hottest jazz songs I've ever heard in my limited experience. (It's loud, so use your headphones and turn it down if you're at work...)
One of the Thirty-two (or maybe Thirty-four....)!

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' | #6 Posted on 16.1.09 1328.09 | Instant Rating: 7.82 | Well, I admit that I pointed out the link between the movie and Keanu Reeves because I knew it would cause some reaction, but the script hasn't even been finished, so it's not exactly cast in stone. I would prefer someone that hasn't starred in a major Hollywood film. Do you guys have someone in mind?
Also, I agree that the ending of the show was on a level of excellence rarely seen and I don't want to see it ruined in a live action adaptation either. Hopefully, the script will utilize one of the other storylines or maybe they could adapt eps. 1-9 into a viable movie, thus leaving the series' epic ending alone. I won't hold my breath though.

I know everyone's going to be dying to know who's going to play Faye, but I for one want to know who's going to play Jett.

Seconded. However, I'll go so far to say Gary Coleman could do the job okay as Spike if Jett were good (yes, I am stretching that a bit, but the point is Jett is key).

I have seen MANY people come in and leave in a rush (Cruise) or act like a b*tch (Tomei) but Reeves was a class act. So if he gets the role, I will not bitch because of how cool he was to EVERYONE he met. A class act.
"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."
