I mean as cool as it would be to see new stories of the Bebop crew, I think it would be stupid to continue on. I feel like the movie was a proper send-off and swan-song for the series and how popular it became. And I like that at the end, you can argue whether Spike is really dead or not. So a new Bebop show would just ruin the series. It wasn't supposed to go beyond that, the show is over, let it rest. And if you really love Bebop, buy the series and movie on DVD .

I always thought it was obvious that Spike died. But I see how it can be up to interpretation.
What happened to the rest of the crew at the end? Unless I'm mistaken, Spike left Faye and Jet on the Bebop, and Ein went home with Edward. (My friend insists that Ein stays with Jet, and its implied that Faye leaves the ship.) I've always thought it would be neat to see a second series following Faye and Jet's exploits on the Bebop, as they pick up some drifters, in a paralell of the first series.

I think the point is that it doesn't give you the whole backstory for the characters, it gives you pieces and clues and the audience puts the rest of the puzzle together themselves. It added to the whole surreal dreamworld/purgatory quality of the series. But in the end, more Bebop just isn't necessary.

Also, star burned out=Spike dead. And the movie clearly states Spike is going to die. "We've both been dead from the beginning."
I always thought was one of the most important themes of the show was that not letting go has it consequences. Granted, not as drastic as Spike's, but still.
