| #1 Posted on 12.9.02 1006.52 | I was re-reading Foley's first book, and something came to mind. What would have happened if the original plan for KOTR '98 had been pursued, whereby Foley and Austin would have met in Hell In the Cell. By getting de-pushed at that point, did it make Foley's career, as the suicidal bumps off the top probably would not have occurred.
Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.| Promote this thread! | | OlFuzzyBastard

If he had fought Austin one more time at KOTR, I still think his incredible charisma and sense of humor would've gotten him an eventual WWF title reign.

| #4 Posted on 12.9.02 1439.49 | I still have visions to this day of Foley waddling behind the stretcher offering his Big Gulp to Vince as Vince is being carted out of the arena, and of Vince screaming his head off at Foley.
THAT is why I liked him. Not some crazy ass bump (which still WAS impressive, don't get me wrong...)

| #5 Posted on 12.9.02 1639.44 | Foley must have thought 'Hey Jude' was about him because he was motivated to make even the saddest scripts look better when he performs it.
I remembered that promo when he was slapped by Stepanie. He was too nice to hit her back, but his response and mannerisms all but made her wish he did. Now that's performing.
Foley should have been on the creative team. No, he should be head of the creative team. Just him being there helps put the other wrestlers over.

| #6 Posted on 14.9.02 2132.05 | When Foley first turned back to Cactus Jack for his final run with HHH, I have to admit I was at first very skeptical.
At first.
Now I look back at that run and that angle as the last good storyline the WWE has done in a very, very long time. (A possible exception is HHH/Stephanie/Angle...) |
