Whatup dudes. I was supposed to tape Confidential for somebody and then, didn't. Now I feel really guilty. If YOU taped Confidential, or if it hasn't come on yet and you have the opportunity to tape it, then I would be so happy to buy the tape or a copy plus the shipping fee plus coolness bonus in order to clear my honor. On top of that I'll, like, name somebody's finisher that doesn't have a name after you in a Heat report on Dave Meltzer's WrestlingObserver.com. It could be the AMOLplex. Or the Inverse DDT. Which is almost a real move.

Incidentally, I'm taping Confidential right now. I should be able to make a copy. The show looked pretty lame, but I haven't seen it yet, so no actual judgement. Though did they just totally forget about part 3 of the Billy Graham story or did they just not mention it at all in the previews?
O O OMG, you're right, they left Graham until the end, and Superstar was the part I was supposed to tape, and now I have, and I'm off the hook. God and Vince and Mean Gene (father, son, and holy ghost) have smiled down upon me on this day, and while I can't send you any money now, my good friend, I'll still put you over, brother. Here's a big fat prestigious NINE user rating. Seriously, thanks a bunch.
While we're on the subject of Confidential, I guess this is as good a place as any for Confidential thoughts... I thought the show overall was pretty solid
-The Rock in Helldorado NO, Welcome to the Jungle NO, The Rundown YEAH that's it- Heck I'm a fan of the Rock so I liked this segment. Funny story of big tough Rock getting freaked out over a spider on his leg and days later the crew played a prank on him. A good natured rubber spider in his pocket pretty tame considering good ol' Bradshaws pranks... Too bad there wasn't any Christopher Walken interview.
-Trish pushes buttons- Two big stories come out of this segment. Trish DVD out on Tuesday AND when I dont' think Trish couldn't look any cuter, I see her with little geeky eyeglasses on and she looks even more adorable. Interesting exchange with Trish and one of the guys making the video when they discussed what photo to use on the DVD cover. Guy said "This one's sexier" Trish responded "Sexier isn't always better.". Bet that wasn't the only discussion about Sexy conent and Trish wanting more wrestling/personality stuff... Segment was alright, Trish is always cute in her normal persona and we got to see glasses wearing Trish. Thought they were going to so a clip from the actual DVD, I heard they had Lillian in it gushing on about Trish, I guess I just have to pay to see that LoL.
-Outside the Ropes: Tajiri (with guest host Funaki)- This was certainly unique. Tajiri pro-dictatorship (and I thought I was controversial with my socialist leanings), Pokemon vs. DragonBall Z(ee), he's pro Pikachu who can kick Ninja Turtles asses because he can shoot lightning out of his butt. They get into the Karate Kid movies Tajiri doesn't think much of the Sensei but loves Elizabeth Shue. He uses Green mist and not Red mist for the fans not to think he's spraying out blood (oh more on this later)... This was very good, Storm a couple of weeks ago now Tajiri, guest hosts rule!!
-Demolition vs. Strike Force- Strike force didn't last long but they were one of my biggest markout teams. I remember being so upset after this result. This was one title switch that stood out from my youth. Ahh they didn't play the Strike Force entrance theme. I want to hear "Girl's In Cars"!... Segment went 3 minutes with the actual match clocking in at 2:15. I think the Bashams introduction to the match was longer then the segment
-Superstar Billy Graham- We start with Graham coughing out blood(not mist)on his wife, he's taken to hospital & he was in bad shape they showed us a photo of his damaged liver(Yup I'd call that in bad shape). He was getting worse by the day but Graham was lucky they found a donor, a pretty 26 year old girl who was involved in a accident; Very sad. Once he got the new liver it breathed new life into him. He started living life to it's fullest... Lifting weights again(which was an uncomfortable site to see). He wants to make peace with Vince, he wrote Vince a letter & was invited to Summerslam 03. He met many wrestlers & personal including Goldberg who said he really likes his style (oh really). Finally met Vince with a hug, then asks the question that's on his mind "Why on earth did I job to Backland?". Vince takes the high road & says he forgives Graham especially seeing how broke & destroyed man he became. Vince = class.
-Dr. Victoria, it hurts right here- Just wow, they done these segment with Torrie, Stacy, Sable and Dawn in the past month, and most of those women are very attractive. But Victoria is just amazing. Unbuttoned lab coat with sexy lingerie = good. She says fans can see Her in a different persona and light from the psycho who beats up Trish Stratus every week" LOL.
Pretty packed show, with having Trish's DVD coming out on Tuesday and Rock's movie on Friday they had to have a segment on those two events. Also adding the third part of the Billy Graham story filled all the Special Features of the show... Then having Victoria with the Raw Magazine photoshoot and Tajrir & Funaki Japanese interview, the show was jammed packed. Little disappointed they cut the heck out of the From the Vault segment but I understand this week just didn't have too much time for it. I'll say best Confidential I've seen in over a month.
(edited by Net Hack Slasher on 21.9.03 0600) Me fail English? That's unpossible
Man, who would have guessed that Victoria went to med school? And the Inside the Ropes bit was awesome. Did anyone else notice that Funaki almost lost it a couple times? Especially when Tajiri said something about "stupid American questions."
Damnit, for some reason my VCR didn't record Confidential. (Probably something to do with stopping the Velocity taping in the middle and rewinding, but it still should have taped the second program.) WWE should stick the best Outside the Ropes segments on some DVD or another as bonus footage.
Lance Storm said on his site that the interviewee really doesn't know what the questions are going to be and that they're not allowed to do any retakes, so what you see on Velocity is exactly how things went down. He also said he expected that you'd see him hosting Outside the Ropes again in the near future, so that's something else to look forward to. I'd LOVE to see Storm interviewing Christian.
I did catch Trish in the glasses, briefly, at least. Definitely nice.
"Vince takes the high road & says he forgives Graham especially seeing how broke & destroyed man he became. Vince = class."
The best part is Vince saying "so after we CRUSHED HIM and DROVE HIM INTO THE GROUND, no, I'm not gonna hold a grudge, I'm not gonna let that eat away at me for years, of course not." Then he said "THE SHIT"~~~~~~~~~~. If there wasn't a Vince McMahon I'd have to invent him.
Disagree. Havoc had a series of strong undercard matches, especially a wonderfully (if obviously) booked Sting/Flair vs. Pillman/Arn match that featured Sting capturing his record 6th "Dumbest Man In Wrestling" title.
