Commercials on Comedy Central said "Now you can see last night's Conan at a reasonable hour!" which depresses me. We want Andy dammit! Comedy Central needs to build up a lot of karma for dropping Strangers With Candy and The Critic reruns.
Whoa, someone else likes Chef! ? I dig the theme song. Shocking. Maybe I should check out Red Dwarf as it comes on PBS here.
Off topic to Nastio: I was at Stubenville 2002...it was alright I guess, I went more for the other activities then the conference stuff.
The technical term for Conan, etc.'s reruns is "repurposing." There's also "reverse-repurposing," if it is a term. For instance, USA's "Monk" is being what I like to call reverse repurposing on ABC. And it's doing pretty damn well, too.
Anyway, Conan repurposed on CC is better then the All-Night version a week later at 3 a.m., no?
Oh -- and for my .02 on fav character -- Triumph, hands down. "I've got worms in my stool that have shows on the WB!" or "Baywatch Nights was on as long as it takes to bang a Yorkie!" Classic. ;)
I think it's safe to say syndication was on failing legs LONG before DVDs came along. At least the golden age of it when you had channels made up almost entirely of syndicated programs (with time out for Jesus, naturally)
