Originally posted by NBC Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks ! – including winning the first week of the season in A18-49 – we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold COMMUNITY and WHITNEY from their previously announced premieres of October 19th. Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week -- plus we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of WHITNEY and COMMUNITY. Whatever. Promote this thread!

Perhaps it's something they can shop around if the axe does fall for good? I'd love for it to show up as a series on Netflix or Hulu Plus (sorry Canucks!).

It's actually better for me if they hold off on putting them out now, since I watch a few fall-only comedies (Always Sunny, the League), making the winter/spring less crowded and a good time for Community.

All the other networks began their stuff the week after, which is why NBC can only brag about that one week.

Anybody here that watches the Venture Bros and The Boondocks like me may be use to extended hiatuses of their favorite shows. As long as the show is coming back one day, and they keep Community off "The Friday Death Slot" we are okie dokie.

Whitney is in. Which is fine, really. Whitney is, I assume, a better a better shit fit with Guys With Kids, and Community will eventually return to Thursday. A nation turns instead to its greatest hope for the future, the superb Happy Endings on ABC.

"You can tell the new show-runners aren't as good from this 90 second clip". Go blow. I feel pretty encouraged that Community is going to wind up in a good state when it does come back. I think it's going to wind up on a non-Friday night at this point. They'll probably just wait to see what else to get rid of.

They didn't "throw out a film" they simply made a television show in between two movies. Nobody has acted like T3 didn't exist. They simply decided to base their television show on the most popular of the three movies.
