This episode was very streets ahead and not at all schmitty. The feud with the high schoolers brought out the best in Britta, like her IMPASSIONED EPIPHANY for Jeff to do that kid's mom and her mock gasp of Annie. Those fucking kids, omg. Perhaps the best depiction of teenagers on television ever.
I always think there are going to be diminishing returns on an Abed plot but nope, LOLOL'd, and the pastiche college partying soundtrack song they put together was a work of art. I would totally buy a Community CD with that, "Getting Rid of Britta," "Pierce You're A B," and uhh ok maybe a CD single. Though I think I'd rather see National Lampoon's Van Wilder's Wingman Incorporated than College Cutups 2: Panty-Raid Academy.
Also, phenomenal burn on Entourage. Man, that show is sloppy.
The turnaround on Britta the last oh, four to six episodes or so, has been nice. They've done a good job of making Britta likable. I think "bagel" and her reaction to being mocked had something to do with it.
Annie's still dating Vaughn? I don't mind as long as I don't have to see it.
Community's patented "Reaction Shots from Around the Table" an incredible visual they keep finding new ways to spin on. I especially liked everyone mocking Annie's gasps.
I was dying at that goat sitting in Pierce's place. The goat's reaction shots were at least as good as Chevy Chase's.
Hearty laugh from me when Pierce walked by Shirley and sat next to an apologized to a different black lady. "Of course."
"You invited me to a 'pool party' that turned out to be a baptism!" "Well, excuse me for trying to sneak you into Heaven!"
Who is the hottest girl in Greendale Abed made out with if it's not Annie or Britta?
I enjoyed this episode (as I do all Community episodes!) but for awhile I was thinking this might be the worst episode of the series because of just how FUCKING ANNOYING those kids were. I wanted to throw the remote at them. In reality, by the time the episode ended, I realized that was merely evidence of how genius this episode really was. I agree with Justin, that really might be the best depiction of teenagers I've ever seen on TV. I think if I was in Jeff or Britta's shoes I would have hauled off and socked them wayyyyy before the pantsing occurred.
First, I am hugely disappointed that no one posted a thread about last week's ABSOLUTELY STELLAR Casino/Goodfellas/Godfather episode. I thought it was probably my favorite episode of Community thus far (made only better by the fact that I had just watched Goodfellas and Casino while out with the flu that week).
This episode was really good, and I think the portrayal of the teenagers and the my-kid-can-do-no-wrong mom was exceptionally brilliant. This show just has its finger on the pulse of so much well-written goodness that it's almost disturbing.
I really think Troy and Abed will become some kind of cinematic comedic duo along the lines of Martin/Lewis and Akroyd/Belushi. I think they're THAT funny.
When the gang got caught by Shirley after Pierce's apology, and Annie did that stutter-step deer-in-the-headlights dance, I died laughing, right then and there.

Goodfellas? Godfather? Whatever Grandpa Shmitty!
I was also confused by the lack of a thread for last weeks episode. I almost thought the episode was a repeat, cause I'll come to the board to see if a new episode thread is up before I hit NBC.com
