A&E is bringing yet another network to any cable company that needs one more channel - the Crime & Investigation network was already launched in Australia at the beginning of the year (check out http://www.citv.com.au/). I can only hope this means they'll FINALLY have found another place to air "Homicide: Life on the Street" although I'm sure I won't get the network for years anyway.

I also wish for Homicide to return to my television.

As for getting this channel, I bet if you got DirecTV, you'd get it faster than cable. :)

They'll just take the HD version of it and downconvert it from 1980 x 1080 to 1280 x 1080 and then tell everyone they have to buy new MPEG-4 H.264 receivers.

On the serious side, given A&E's acquisition of The Sopranos at $2.5 mil/ep (and the rumor that a late night run will be unedited) this could turn into something awesome. There has to be room for Law & Order, and given NBC Uni's 25% ownership in A&E, maybe there's room to wiggle (aside from the TNT contract, of course.) Add Homicide to the two other shows and I'm swooning.

Of course, the real goal should be to make this an all Law & Order channel, at least before NBC becomes one. I think March is the date on that.

So, um, I don't want you to believe everything you hear at the parent-teacher conference, okay, 'cause...they lie. And they exaggerate. That's why they're teachers, right? Those who can't, right, Mom? Those who can't.

Seriously, it's so worth it to get the "H:LOTS" DVDs. I just finished watching season 5 in sequence and *OH MAN* I forgot how good the Luther Mahoney storyline is...
