A Star Wars Geek says:

I took this off my own site, the Geekdom because I'd like for some people to you know, read stuff when I write it, attracting some visitors is always a bonus.

Can you hear the buzz? They're coming. No not Killer Bees. By the way weren't they supposed to have taken over by now? All those science guys were full of crap, as was "Invasion:The Killer Bee Nightmare". Surprising how Fox's made for TV killer bee cheesefest Invasion topped the WWF's InVasion but that's neither here nor there. Well let's see it's my first opinion column and I'm how many sentences in without mentioning my point? Spider-Man is making serious bank. And you know what that means. If you don't I'll give you a hint. Friends is on the air. Buddies pops up on Fox. Survivor shows up. Big Brother pops up. Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Everyone. Who wants to sit in the Chair? Very stupid people. I'm talking about ripoffs in case you ain't with me. Fads in TV happen every now and then. Less often in the movies. Reality Television and Primetime game shows ain't no budget strain. However movies cost a lot more. A lot. The bank my man Raimi has made is pushing a lot of comic movies ahead full speed. Studios don't realize or don't care that Spidey is the world's 3rd biggest hero and it's been a ridiculous wait for his flick. Will Fantastic Four open with 100 mil? No. And I doubt Daredevil will. Likely Daredevil will make 130 mil overall which is good bank and which is what the other comic movies should shoot for because the "next" big thing after Spider-Man won't be here for awhile. The floodgates are open for comic movies and the last time Burton's Batman opened them we got the likes of the live action Punisher. This time I have a little more faith in Hollywood but not every movie will be Spider-Man. Spider-Man was an event. These other movies won't be. Most of them at least. The Hulk movie will probably blow. Ang Lee is an awesome director but if the rumours of his plotline changes are true it will blow. I'm not gonna spoil it, you can go to Dark Horizons for them. I was hoping Hollywood had learned about messing with the story but this Hulk thing worries me. After 8 or 9 comic movies they are gonna die out like Reality TV and Primetime Game Shows did. Hopefully the gates will open on Television as well to give us a Man-Thing series... but that's my dreaming. Regardless if they get made Rising Stars, Preacher, and Death will own. But don't hold your breath because Jason VS Freddy or Aliens VS Predator is on their way next year according to what we heard in 95.

Spidey came out. Success happened. That simple. So take head, because the clones are coming. Again.

What I can't figure out is why they don't make more
movies from video games characters. ;-)
Comics are so passe' ;-)

And just why did Tomb Raider not become a monster hit despite having the the superhot Angela Jolie in it?

Y'see, there's this little thing called a "plot"...

You know, the "plot" of Tomb Raider reminds me a lot of the "plot" of Alias.

As a fan of Alias (and someone who loathes T&A/cheesecake for the sake of T&A/cheesecake), I can tell you that I think you're way wrong, Mark. But then again, this is the second time I've heard that criticism (the first coming from someone else). How much of the show have you seen (and I mean this in a conversational way, not argumentative -- I'm trying to figure something out)?

I started watching about mid-way through the season. The whole "magic Renaissance technology" is what I was thinking of here, comparing the two.

My predictions:

Daredevil - Not enough of a fanbase, and not a big name director... I think it won't do well.
Hulk - Will have a big opening weekend, but I don't expect it to be a great movie either, so it will fall off after that.
X-Men 2 & Spidey 2 - Will both be huge, and those will be the franchises that survive.

Then they'll make some stuff like Ghost Rider that will totally flop. The whole thing will probably die out by the time they even get to Fantastic 4, which is a shame because I think that would be a terrific movie.

JR would need to be in the movie then, just to yell "MAH GOD WHAT A HOSS!" and "He's the PHENOM!"... JR as the plucky sidekick!

Pandas are people too!!

Just like how plot doesn't matter to Stephanie McMahon right?? I'd rather have Joel Schulmacher writing right now.

A Star Wars Geek says:

Let's compare the consequences....

Joel:
Hurricane's costume gets nipples.
Chuck gets world title.
Pat Patterson becomes owner of Raw.
Jeff Hardy goes solo permanently.

Steph:
Lucy the Bulldog.
Renewing of vows.
More push for Hunter.

I'd say that those two break even.

Although, you were asking before why it was your truck that was stolen and not the newer and shinier truck sitting right by it? The fact that it was used on a few B&E's would explain it.
